About this listen

Possessed mages are closing in on the capital of Serin, but then Mason discovers the Master has managed to brand a few ogres too, and as everyone is quick to tell him, this is bad news. Very bad.

If the Master enslaves the ogres...this war is over before it even begins.

So, Mason, his women, and the half-ogre Haragh must travel to Jagruel, the ogre territory, and thwart the Master’s plan of increasing his army.

The only problem with their plan is that ogres are more inclined to eat Mason than talk to him.

So this book is ok. It's pretty good, but that party at the end may be the best thing I've ever heard on audible. Drunk party...epic!

Another installment of my favorite series in a long while. It's well written, action packed, funny, and has just the right amount of spiciness!

Narrations good and this late into the series I'm used to the oddly horny characters. it's ok but It hit some peeves I find in characters in books. Inconsistency is one. Theres going to be points where actions, decisions, and thoughts are marginally out of character. they dont derail the plot, but they do stand out. Book 9 and the only real character development has been Mason. The other characters just dont have the depth so when one starts acting irregularly we have to have cleche arguements and exposition just to understand what's going on. Its a reoccurring thing in the series. I cant really give 3.5's here but I dont think the story is a 4 either so it gets the unofficial 3.5. I like Mason's work if not his general character and the world is pretty flushed out with a clear conflict and proper antagonist goals. I just wish the characters themselves got a little more flushed out so that when one has an internal struggle we dont need their thoughts laid out to us so blatantly. It makes for weird development especially since the conflicts could probably have been brought up much more naturally over the coarse of the books. None of it is really surprising. Just cherry picking at that point though. I do like the books, I just wish they spent more time building what they had instead of the gang constantly dealing with something new. Pretty lengthy review for 4 stars but I dont think it's bad enough for a 3. It has its ups and downs is all.

Some peeves definitely hit
