The dilemma the main character finds herself in

I enjoyed listening to this book even though it's a simple story, it has plenty of twists and turns. The story is well written and the characters are developed well. The narration was okay. I'm not sure what she audience she appeals because there narrator read very slowly. I prefer slow to fast but this was slower than what I like to hear. Her voice is rather high pitched which isn't my preference but she has excellent enounceation and did bring the characters to life. Overall I did enjoy this book and recommend it.

New series

Message for Murder is the first in the Rutledge Historical Society cozy mystery series by Jerri Kay Lincoln. The main character Lorry Lockharte is an abused woman who finally leaves her husband for good. She’s starting over in her home town surrounded by supportive family and friends. Despite that, some of her decisions and actions are painful to see like how she painstakingly locks up her purse in a drawer, but that’s probably the result of 10 years of abuse. Hopefully she grows during the rest of the series. She does help solve a couple of murders that happened in her workplace. The narrator, Chris Kenworthy is wonderful. She gave voice to all the characters and brought them to life.

Awful

Message for Murder is awful. The story moves slowly, the characters are flat and the story is predictable.
