Publisher's summary

Adam Cassidy is one of Brunton’s most famous residents. For the past few years he has played the lead role in a TV detective show that has been a worldwide success. He now believes it is his time for a crack at Hollywood, and, as plans are made for the fifth series, he doesn’t care who he has to betray in order to fulfill his dream. Meanwhile, DCI Percy Peach, now happily married to Lucy Blake, is at a loose end and is in danger of being drawn into the ongoing, and unpopular, local anti-terrorism initiative.

What he needs is a high-profile murder case to sink his teeth into – and he may be about to get what he wishes for…

Slow start

Warning. You must slog through 8 chapters before the plot starts to develop. After 4 chapters I started skipping 10 minutes at a time. Then whole chapters until finally the murder happened. I don’t remember her other books plodding along so slowly.

Wit and charm, but….

I generally love Gregson (I like Peach but miss Lambert and Hook). But this one takes Forever to get to the murder. Rambling and frustrating though just engaging enough to keep me listening.
