it was nice to have all the novellas in one compilation and the addition of the future Philip Nagata story was awesome. my only complaint is that I want more books in the Expanse universe. ❤️

Excellent execution as always

Only real detractors would be some indication by year relative to the Gate Opening would improve this. Where to place them before or between books would also be good. Just because things happened before it all began doesn't mean we know about or care about the characters so that is important as well.

filling in some missing pieces

the Expanse series wasn't big enough (!) to include these colorful bits of our fave characters plus a brief commentary at the end of each that gives a glimpse into process. I appreciate the choice of the final - seems our reality is accelerating crisis, too.

Bittersweet Summations

As much as I am sad to reach the end of the published work in the Expanse universe, I am thankful that the authors have so thoroughly put together these small vignettes that flesh out the universe.

There were so many wonderful moments where I would be halfway through a story and realize a detail connecting it to one of the main novels that completely changed the stakes, and while the stories worked well on their own covering a wide breadth of sci-fi genres and narrative styles, their connections to the main novels made it all the more enjoyable.

excellently crafted and a joyous listen.

All gaps filled, all questions answered!

I'd read a few of the stories already, but the others complete this series for me. It provided more depth to some of the more mysterious characters.
This book was the icing on the most wonderful cake. If you're a real Expanse fan, it's a must.

An excellent compliment to the Expanse story

This collection of ancillary stories to the Expanse universe provides much needed context to the characters and storylines of the Expanse series.

A note on Jefferson Mays. When I first listened to a sample of Leviathan Wakes, my first thought was “meh”. I was wrong. As I listened to the series (after already having read the books, his talent was obvious. He is the voice of that universe.

Don’t miss this collection!

Well worth the time, these novellas really enrich many of the characters lightly touched on in the major works.
The only caution would be not to get ahead of the main story line. It worked well for me to enjoy “… Legion” after completing the series.
