About this listen

"Like Interview with the Vampire, Memnoch has a half-maddened, fever-pitch intensity. . . . Narrated by Rice's most cherished character, the vampire Lestat, Memnoch tells a tale as old as Scripture's legends and as modern as today's religious strife."(Rolling Stone)

"Sensual...bold, fast-paced." (USA Today)

"Rice has penned an ambitious close to this long-running series. . . . Fans will no doubt devour this."(The Washington Post Book World )

"[Memnoch] is one of Rice's most intriguing and sympathetic characters to date. . . . Rice ups the ante, taking Lestat where few writers have ventured: into heaven and hell itself. She carries it off in top form."(The Seattle Times)

Better than anticipated

Did not expect this to be a theologically based story and was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed it so thoroughly. Simon Vance is always my choice to narrate Anne Rice books.

Between the Lines

I read once that Anne Rice claimed this was her favorite book from the Lestat series. A lot of the religious aspect of the Devil and God did not hold my interest. The mind of Anne Rice has always drawn me in. You must read all of her books. Whether you believe in a religion or not you should take in this tale.

Excellent,<br />better than Dante, Faust, paradise lost

Excellent, better than Faust, Paradise Lost, Dante's Inferno, and quite scary that it's more philosophically and Spiritually correct, HELL, and possibly even more historically correct as well.

fantastic look into creation

in this book in the series Lestat is merely a listener, as Memnoch shares the history of creation. A close and intimate look at God, the devil and how it all came to be. Anne Rice manages to take us into a biblical tale within the Vampire Chronicles, well executed leaves us with a big deal to think about.

Favorite story as good as any Bible

I love this book. The idea of getting answers to why we are here without a guide to God's plan.
