About this listen

Rade and his team have been sent deep behind enemy lines. Their mission: capture a high-ranking Sino Korean official and escape to the extract zone before all hell breaks loose.

They almost make it. But then aliens decide to show up.

Now Rade and his team are fighting not just for their lives, but for the lives of every man, woman, and child on Earth.

Not that Rade minds: He lives for this.

Featuring the new Jupiter class of mechs - fearsome war machines equipped with experimental plasma cannons known as stingrays, capable of delivering thrice the stopping power of a typical heavy laser. Enemies of humanity, you have been warned.

Action packed fun fed through superior detail

Wow that was two well ...THAT WAS FANTASTIC AND SPOT ON STORY OF WHAT I WANTED AS FAR AS A STORY DESIGN AND HAVING SCI-FI
Based background with mass structure military combat and this was the main reason for starting the series in what kind of story I was searching I like several different genres however when searching for investing to add to a collection of favorites special in design I am very nit pick in the hunt of what I want to invest in this here book was Action packed fun fed through superior detail served exquisitely in MECHs design craftsmanship and richness of these well thought-out characters to run through the story just to cool ..well I’m done here going to get books at this time see that there was ahead something I’m happy about being the hunger for more that has seemingly that developed in me so ya get the not need a second thought nor glance just grab and have a good time.

A Rousing Military Sci-fi Romp!

Mech 2 picks up right after Mech with enemy alien actions, military battles and it’s signature inter-squad banter. It a lot of excitement and drama for the military sci-fi junkie…although I’ll admit, I was getting a bit tired of the alien sympathizer, Cynthia. Satisfying story ably performed by James Cronin! Mount up!

Another good one

Mech series is fun! Listen and enjoy! I like the idea of the need for enhancing the soldiers but not in a beyond realistic way!

Another Home Run for Isaac Hooke & James P. Cronin

*no spoilers herein this* I've been reading Isaac Hooke’s books since the very first one came out years ago. I'm never disappointed in the slightest. His books are always extremely well written and well researched. I read and listened to this book at the same time, as I’ve done for the Argonauts series, Star Warrior, and the other series. I enjoy reading them because while they are clearly fiction they contain enough nonfiction elements to make it seem like yea, ok, this could maybe happen. I realized maybe halfway through book 2 that this series also has multiple deeper meanings, which had me reading through the rest of the book looking for more than just what is on the surface. I sincerely hope that others pick up on this too. I love that this author can turn his feelings and things that are going on in his life and create a story out of them and use it to reach out to others who may be in a similar situation. And that the narrator can put such emotion and passion breathing life into the characters. Make sure to read the Author's short story “Salvage” at the link in the end of the book. Buy this book, you won't be disappointed. Can't wait for book #3.

not much about Mechs

I got this book hoping for a classic military sci-fi mechanized battle book, it is not it's a classic Marines military story with thread about falling sexually in love (with a mech)
