About this listen

A New York Times best selling memoirs!

In this New York Times best seller, international superstar Ricky Martin, who has sold more than 60 million albums worldwide, opens up for the first time about memories of his early childhood, experiences in the famed boy band Menudo, struggles with his identity during the Livin' la Vida Loca phenomenon, reflections on coming to terms with his sexuality, relationships that allowed him to embrace love, and life-changing decisions like devoting himself to helping children around the world, and becoming a father. Me is an intimate memoir about the very liberating and spiritual journey of one of the most iconic pop-stars of our time.

Critic reviews

"In the process of revealing the human being behind the artist, Ricky Martin offers us a testimony of exemplary honesty and greatness of soul. While I was reading, I remembered averse from the Persian poet Hafez, ‘Not even seven thousand years of joy can justify seven years of repression.’" (Paulo Coelho)

"Ricky Martin has written an extraordinary memoir, the story of a tortured soul who healedhimself by returning to the state of innocence and authenticity. His story will speak to you, because it is, in a sense, the story of humanity - of the sacred and the profane, of forbidden lust and unconditional love. It takes courage to be so ruthlessly honest and transparent, but it is only this kind of courage and this kind of love that can heal the world. Bravo!" (Deepak Chopra, MD)

Menudo Menudo Menudo

I read a lot of celebrity biographies. Its kinda my thing. I love them. Usually the books are full of interesting stories that allow you to peak into the celeb's personal life. Ricky Martin's book did this but it also seemed to drag on and on and on talking about the same things over and over and over again. Mainly Menudo! I mean we all know that's where Ricky's fame was first discovered and he will always be famous for his time in Menudo. But ever other paragraph in the book seemed to be about Menudo. Even things in the book that had nothing to do with singing and performing somehow seemed to lead back to Menudo.

UGH!! And here I am doing the exact same thing as the book. Going on and on about Menudo. LOL

So if you NEVER knew Ricky Martin was in Menudo then this is a really good audiobook to listen to.

PERFECTO

Ricky did an amazing job taking the listener through a tour of his turbulent, exciting, and unpredictable life. Ricky's journey from child star to adult heart throb and onto fatherhood and philanthropist made a for a fun and uplifting rollercoaster ride. Most prevalent was his struggle to accept and publicly reveal his sexuality. Very inspiring especially for the gay community.

I LOVED HOW OPEN AND HONEST RICKEY MARTIN WAS !

I'm a gay man that also took way to long to come out of the closet!!! Ricky was finally at a point
fortunately that he just couldn't live a life anymore. I myself couldn't live this way either. We think that our biggest fear is that the truth we put out will isolate us from the rest of the world. What we don't know is that in telling the truth it sets us free to be our genuine self. It opens our heart to ourselves as well as the people we call Family & Friends. I am so happy and proud of Ricky Martin for sharing his truth to us.

Excellent Work from Ricky

I bought the hardcover book few omths ago for my friend, but I haven't got the chance to read it...until yesterday, I decided to buy the audiobook version,

After I finished the book, tears fell down my eyes...I don't know why...His words are so touching and compassionate. You can really feel the words he chose in every sentence or paragraphs are real and is not exagerated.

Much respect to Ricky!!!

inspiraciónal

I loved this book. it is a must read. I knew Ricky Martin when he was in the Menudo but I didn't follow his journey after that and to read all of the things he had to go thru to become the mam he is today was wonderful. I wish I could meet him, his story touched me.
