Acerca de esta escucha

From the New York Times best-selling author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo; now with a bonus conversation with Julia Whelan and Taylor Jenkins Reid, recorded exclusively for this edition.

At the age of 29, Hannah Martin still has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She has lived in six different cities and held countless meaningless jobs since graduating college. On the heels of leaving yet another city, Hannah moves back to her hometown of Los Angeles and takes up residence in her best friend Gabby’s guestroom. Shortly after getting back to town, Hannah goes out to a bar one night with Gabby and meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan.

Just after midnight, Gabby asks Hannah if she’s ready to go. A moment later, Ethan offers to give her a ride later if she wants to stay. Hannah hesitates. What happens if she leaves with Gabby? What happens if she leaves with Ethan?

In concurrent storylines, Hannah lives out the effects of each decision. Quickly, these parallel universes develop into radically different stories with large-scale consequences for Hannah, as well as the people around her. As the two alternate realities run their course, Maybe in Another Life raises questions about fate and true love: Is anything meant to be? How much in our life is determined by chance? And perhaps, most compellingly: Is there such a thing as a soul mate?

Hannah believes there is. And, in both worlds, she believes she’s found him.

Loved it! Great storyline and very well read. I could easily follow the dialog between characters and story threads. This was a joy to listen to.

Overall this was an easy listen. Finished it in a two days. I thought it was a great story, I think alot of us wonder about what if's and wanted to get our sh** together and we all have made decisions that made us decided we needed to change and the growth that comes from the what if's in this story is relatable. She is going through two different scenarios but ultimately she adapts and grows into a better version of herself and life in both settings.

Relateable

This was a great book, written well, very entertaining and an awesome spin on the multiverse.

TJR does it again

I picked this book because like my title says, at one point or another we’d all like to see how our lives would turn out had we made different decisions than the ones we did.

I related to this book and its characters, the voice of the reader when she played the males not so much. It wasn’t horrible, I’d just rather had heard more distinction between the males vocals by an actual male.

Overall, I followed along and really enjoyed the back and forth between the two worlds, that takes mastery of one’s craft to keep that in order and Jenkins did a great job of that.

I enjoyed the duality of the characters and their decisions. I could see it played out like a movie, which to me is always a sign of a good book.

Welp. Taylor Jenkins Reid did it again. This one might honestly be my favorite, and that says a lot because I pretty much obsess over all of her books. I reallyyyy hope she produces this one in to a movie too!!!!

TJR FOR MVP

Absolutely phenomenal, as usual, from both the author and narrator. A story that kept you on your toes, and ended up touching my heart and making me view life in a different way.

another TJR classic

Taylor Jenkins Reid gently introduces the idea of infinite, parallel universes and possibilities, then powerfully reminds us of the importance of owning our choices and actions. Bravo! I relate so deeply with the unbreakable bond between best friends, and how that relationship, rather than romantic ones, is often the constant, reliable throughline of our life's journey.

Every Possibility...

My daughter warned me not to read this author because she would rip out my heart. But I did it anyway. She did not rip out my heart, but made my world a better place!

Loved the characters

The author brings her characters to life, with all their goodness and flaws. Loved the endings, but it left the reader wanting to know more of their lives. a sequel to be continued.... would be fantastic. Of course no one tells the story like Julia Whelan !!

Never want the story to end.
