Not to the expectations

This books is not explaining clearly how to develop the skill of master thinking. The example mentioned here is not enough

I guess I shouldn't have expected much in 1 hour.

As the book is only one hour long, I expect (hope) that there is more to DeBono's teachings on creativity than the scant intro provided in this audiobook. I certainly can't say that I have any deeper understanding of creativity and thinking after listening to this. It's too brief to be much more than an ad for his seminars. The book does introduce you to DeBono's Body Framework, in which different thought processes or steps are described in analogy to different body parts and systems (bones = structure of the situation; muscles = goals and effort; nerves = networks of connections; fat = irrelevant ideas; skin = presentation to others; health = utility of the solution). The analogies to body parts seems rather stretched, not always making the idea or concept any clearer. Overall, if you don't expect to get much out of this short book (other than to get a vague idea of De Bono's theses), you won't be disappointed. BTW, De Bono is NOT the narrator.

Great and (almost) effortless thinking process

I hope my old school taught me a lesson on how to think systematically... Now de Bono filled this gap! I use this approach whenever I need to write my university papers, as well as to compile a long term plan for my volunteer work. It takes no effort at all to remember this thinking process--all it takes is a look at my own body and I'll know which of the six steps I am working on.

I recommend his "Six Thinking Hat" approach as well. The two skills complement each other very well.

Not what i was looking for.

There was just not enough substance here. There was nothin to really latch on to and move forward.

Should have read the small print

De Bono is brilliant - but carefully read the description to check if this is what you are looking for. It is not read by the author and is certainly not one of his inspirational lectures - rather a workshop presented by third parties.
