About this listen
In the pursuit of justice, there was nowhere Marshal Oliver Blackstone wouldn’t go to apprehend a fugitive. Whether that meant facing the forces of nature or the evils of men, once he was on your trail, there was no getting rid of him.
But what happens when that fugitive isn’t just another nameless outlaw? What if he’s a colleague and a friend whose reasoning is understandable, although flawed?
A ruthless band of vigilantes, intent on avenging one of their associates, rips apart the life of one of Marshal Blackstone's own deputies, presenting the deputy with a decision he never would have imagined possible. Does he choose to uphold his badge and allow justice to unfold, or does he forsake his years of dedication and embark on a path of vengeance?
As a deputy whose skills with a six-gun once placed him at the top of J.C. Cavanaugh’s “List,” every marshal west of Austin, Texas, was aware of his reputation, but all respect aside, were he to start meting out justice vigilante style, he’d be a man headed for a dark horizon, and someone would have to hunt him down and bring him in. That someone was Marshal Oliver Blackstone, and dead or alive, his deputy was coming back to Santa Fe.

Wonderful!
Riano is a gifted writer that turns out beautifully written stories. If you like westerns, don’t let this one get away. The old west was a time of hardships and love. The narrator did a great job in bringing the story to life. I loved it!

Once again Another Great Story
As life goes on we get to see/ listen to another chapter of life in the West. Oliver Blackstone's deputy brings in a outlaw to be judged and things so extremely south when thus outlaw is hung. The criminal who he worked for decides to take revenge out on this deputy. Narrator does a good job as usual and helps bring the story to life.

From Lawman to Beloved Hero
This is book seven of seven—and what an awesome ride it’s been! I’ve loved every single one, and I’m happy to report that the steam and suspense are still going strong. This one had me on the edge of my seat, just like the rest. Oliver continues to be the kind of badass you can’t help but root for. You know he’s going to come out on top, but the story still keeps you second-guessing—and that’s what makes it so good!
Book VII shifts the spotlight to another fan-favorite in Oliver’s world—Deputy Marshal Wade McCall. And wow, Wade’s story really hits you in the feels. He’ll grab a piece of your heart for sure… though Oliver still holds the top spot for me (wink, wink). We also get more of deputies Cherry and Newsome, who bring their own spark to the story and totally shine.
The narration? Solid as ever. From start to finish, this was an excellent listen. Can I dare to hope for a book eight? Fingers crossed! Don’t make me beg. 😄
