About this listen

Spring is in full bloom, love is in the air, and Cupid has taken deadly aim in Savannah.

Newly engaged, Royce Locke and Sawyer Key are ready to set the date and charge full-steam ahead into their happily ever after, but homicides and unresolved conflicts keep getting in their way. Neither detective has met a case they couldn't solve, but their latest investigations will push their limits and challenge their faith when the line between friend and foe becomes blurred. And if that weren't enough, a random encounter with a stranger will trigger a series of events that could either make or break the couple.

Love—often a thriller, sometimes a killer, but always worth the battle.

Contains mature themes.

Locke and Key every day

Well…I will never get enough of these two wonderful men. I do miss that they don’t work together but I guess that’s real life…lol!! It allows for a deeper story line and that makes it interesting!!! I can’t wait to start the 3rd book and get the wedding, but will be so sad when it’s over. Love this!!!

Loving these men story.

Holy cow. This story line has been outrageously great. Listening to Tristan James telling it has been intense. Loving his take on voices for the side characters. Sawyer and Reese ongoing life and challenges they keep coming up against at work and home has been intense. Smoothly in regards to being able to sit and listen to 6 or so hours at a time can be daunting but with the way Tristan reads it been fun. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Really good series

This is a really good series. So our boys are dealing with planning their wedding, though Evangeline appears to have that pretty much well in hand. Getting ready for Jace & Holly's wedding. Dealing with Royce's' no good brother & father. Helping Royce's sister finally get out from underneath the family's thumb. And investigating a rash of robberies of small businesses and the death of a wedding planner. A lot was going on & will keep you on the edge of your set trying to keep up. It was so good from beginning to end. I didn't figure out the main mystery of the death of the wedding planner. I would highly recommend to read the original series, Zero Hour, first before starting this series as you get Royce & Sawyer from their first meeting to where they are now

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Good pace and interesting story.
I enjoyed the twisty direction the primary mystery of this one took, and the cleaver way we "revisit" elements of Sawyer's past. There's probably a little too much "se*y time" for me (I'm at an age where I prefer more story), but the characters are growing both individually and as a couple, and I'm enjoying the direction the series is taking - bring on more chaos!

🎧 Narrator comment: Tristan James can be a narrator you either enjoy or don't. Personally I love him, I go through phases where he's just what I need in a narrator. I find his tones soothing, he has good timing and inflections and he brings these characters to life. I enjoyed his performance of this title and will happily listen to it again.

Good story. Good narration.

Still enjoying this series. This book had a few too many sappy moments for my cynical soul, but most romance readers will appreciate the sappiness and wedding planning. The core murder mystery has some interesting moments. The resolution was a little anticlimactic for a seasoned mystery reader, but the focus of the story was really the mushy romance stuff, so...

Narration was good. Tristan James' voice is still pleasant, but he does tend to have some awkward pauses from time to time. Overall a good read/listen, and I have already started on the next book.
