Publisher's summary

When the story ends, you just know the couple walks away with a "Happily Ever After"....

Donavan Hardy wished that was his fate. Donnie loved Avery Castle with every part of his being. It seemed they were about to have it all. Then his past came knocking, threatening to tear it all down. Avery's father sowed doubt everywhere he could. Life was slipping through Donavan's fingers. But nothing would stop him from being the man and father Avery and their children needed him to be. Not even if it meant facing his worst fears and reliving a past he thought was over.

Donnie had always been Avery's world. They were destined to be together since they were kids. The fire between them could set the world ablaze. But could they truly ever be happy? She spent her whole life being the deaf girl, being told how to live, that was until Donavan claimed her and fueled her passions. She had to decide if it was worth it. The uncertainty, the danger. Was the passion Donavan made Avery feel worth the cost of her sanity?

Contains mature themes.

Getting Passed the Hurdles

I loved it. Two people sticking together with many challenges. Too much was getting in the way of their relationship.

A little long but ok

Some of the finite unnecessary details could’ve been left out of the book, there were chapters that kind of dragged the story on and made it mundane but it was ok

Not what I expected

Good story overall but too much drama. Ms. Avant’s heroes are always torn between heaven and hell, being a devil and angel in one package. The women who love them seem to either find something of themselves or sacrifice something of themselves to love them. I like the characters overall, but not the father or the narration of his voice.
The story was disjointed at times without smooth transitions in conversations or scenes. Sometimes it was hard to follow what was going on.
Learning new things about how the deaf cope was interesting.
This is not the best I’ve read from her, glad she has grown since, in her writing.

Better

This story was actually better then the first. I really do commend this author. This is actually good enough to be a movie

PALM FACE SLAP!!!

This book could've been great, but the narrator was terrible. The story was so drawn out, that I was happy when it was over

I don’t know.

This book could be good, but to much sex and violence. Sure you can get a few orgasms, but with the violence mixed in my brain started to want to puke 🤢. My body didn’t know what to do with the mixture. So I don’t know 🤷🏾‍♀️ what to really feel.

I really really wanted to like it...

“Make Me Stay II” was not as good as the first book. I think there was too many
add-ins that stretched out the book unnecessarily. The relationship with the parents did not make sense especially after their misdeeds were revealed. I absolutely hated the audio portrayal of the father; the voice did not align with the life of the character. What were you thinking?

On the fence

I am a little bit on the fence with this part two of the story. It was a little hard to follow, and I was going to confuse between Hunter and hawk. Jumping from past to present kept giving me whiplash. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, but the second one then may or may not read it again. Some of it sounded very monotone.

I have to say it was a good way to lean off the first book.

It was overall enjoyable but it just dragged at the end some good twist and turns and the chemistry between those to 😲
