About this listen

Montana Kincaid figures if writing a mail order bride worked out so well for his youngest brother, why not try it himself? He's made sure to ask all the right questions so he doesn't end up with any of the surprises Jessie had. But life is often full of surprises - unfortunately, they're not all good surprises!

Mary Dobson lost her parents when she was still a child. Her aunt and uncle took her in and to raise. Out of obligation, Mary corresponded with Calvin, a friend of theirs, but stopped writing him once she started receiving letters from Montana. Unsettled by a recent letter from Calvin, Mary decides it best that she join her fiancé, Montana, several months earlier than planned.

Did runaway brides exist as early as the 1800s? Or is there more trouble brewing on the homestead? The Kincaids are not strangers to danger, but this time, will they lose a new addition to their family?

Enjoyable novella!

--I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

I love this series, the books are the perfect length for my walk or cooking dinner. This one features Montana, the 27 year old brother. He has sent for his bride, only to find out that she is being stalked by a previous suitor arranged by her parents. Mary arrives in House Springs several days early and the chemistry between Montana and Mary is immediate. The letters between them did not disappoint their actual meeting. They marry and right away, the stalker arrives. Can Montana save her? I won't let the ending out! Susette Williams is able to develop the characters in the short novellas so that you feel you know this family!

Lawrence Yaklin has a great performance. His voice is perfect for historical western romance.

Short, sweet novella

This novella is a short, sweet and fun story. I liked it because it was a quick listen when I knew that I wouldn't have time for a longer one. Narration was very good.

SHORT & SWEET

I'm really loving this series of short story Mail Order Brides. Each one is about a different brother in one family and how he finds his bride to be and their subsequent marriage.
In this book, the bride gets kidnapped and the story tells of the excitement of the chase and how they eventually find her again. Of course the bride and groom have fallen deeply in love and I hope, they live happily ever-after.
Short, sweet, believable and totally enjoyable.
The narration was of a high caliber too.

Love this short story

First off the narrator is just the voice for the series.
A western era mail order bride series is such an original idea. I love the fact that the brothers find good women this way.
These sort stories are sweet and clean. You can't help falling in love with all of the family.

okay

I should've listen to book one before I played this one. Oh well. I didn't really like this book. Didn't really catch my attention as it did others. That's why I rated this book a 3 star.

I Enjoy ALL the Mail Order Bride Audiobooks

Montana's Bride was especially good. Mary was writing to a man named Calvin out of feelings of obligation then decided to go out west to marry Montana. Things are going pretty well until she receives an unexpected visitor. This book had a good twist.

Again, I love this series. It has a most relaxing affect on me. I like the way Susette Williams has them all linked together and hope she keeps writing them. They could go far.

Lawrence D. Yaklin did another terrific performance with this audiobook. His voice is relaxing as well. He has a good western tone that's perfect for the stories. Another awesome listen.
