Publisher's summary

Who knew life after disaster could be so ssssssweet?

Arthur Cain was a hero to his city, the most accomplished and respected of the firefighters in his entire district. But when a call comes in from the so-called "Halfbreed Heights", the monsterfolk part of the city, Arthur's life gets flip-turned upside down.

Though he saved the life of a matronly lamia that day, he was also partially crippled and forced into early retirement. Now unable to fit the image of her personal superman, Arthur's wife divorces him and leaves him to move into a cheaper home in the same monsterfolk slum that caused his current situation.

To satisfy his daughter's anxiety, he reluctantly agrees to take on a caregiver from the monsterfolk-run service, Maid For You. The twist? She's the serpentfolk daughter of the woman whose life he saved. It ends up being the best decision he's ever made.

A great monoromance for men

Well written and well acted. This book is a very cozy read despite the "villainess" being as horrible and narcissistic as she is. If you like other monoromances for men like Would You Love a Monster Girl or Headpats After Dark, you'll definitely like this. It's a really great listen. A few mistakes in the audio, but nothing that takes you out of it. The performances are above average (I love this duo) by a lot. Looking forward to book 2! Keep it up North and Knightley!

Love the story

Another great slice of life mono romance with a dark edge. The character dynamics are so well done even in a short book you feel the connections they all share whether it's positive or negative. The build up of the romance was entertaining and the constant dark build up behind the scenes just made it enjoyable. I can't wait for book two even with it following new characters.

I could see this as a movie!

Maid for you is an incredibly sweet and beautiful story of love and family. I feel like I just watched a hallmark movie made for dudes. The story is so relatable in in the real world where we sadly don't have monster girls. The pacing and tension was just awesome and the spice level was just right. The MC while wounded is never made lesser by the characters that matter save the antagonist who I think many of us can see a tiny bit of in someone we know.

In closing I'll say that this is the kind of story that will live on in your head after you have finished it which is the best kind of book IMHO

Mostly good, but…

I would have preferred if the male narrator did the Arthur sections instead of the female. Otherwise a good story. Good voice characterizations. Not as spicy as other stories in this category, but there’s enough for prurient interest.

Prostitution with extra steps

The one was on the bubble, but it ended in a down vote.

The good. Dark interpersonal vibe with interesting character interactions along with very good voice acting, well when they don’t sing.

The bad. Heavy use of modern allegories boarding on propaganda. It also is in need of a good editor. Solutions and issues seen to pop in without warning. These could have been solved with a few throw away lines or slight rewrites. The ending act is nonsense as everyone from the main characters to the police act idiotically.
