Publisher's summary

From USA Today and Amazon Bestselling Author Laura Pavlov, comes a new Small Town, Enemies to Lovers, Standalone Sports Romance in the brand new Magnolia Falls Series.

Demi Crawford was Magnolia Falls royalty.

I was the boxer from the wrong side of the tracks.

She was the epitome of everything good, while I was broody and rebellious.

We couldn’t be more different.

Her family was enemy number one which made her guilty by association.

I despised her before I even knew her.

It was easier that way.

But now she’d moved in next door to me, and she was everywhere I turned.

I couldn’t avoid her no matter how hard I tried.

She was beautiful and honest and sweet.

Everything I knew I shouldn’t want.

Shouldn’t need.

They say there’s a fine line between love and hate—and I don’t know when I crossed over.

I was so wrapped up in this girl I couldn’t see straight.

She was the right hook I never saw coming.

Hating her was supposed to be my end game.

Loving her… well, that was just the beginning.

But the secrets that lived between us threatened to tear us apart.

Lucky for her—I was a born fighter.

And she was definitely worth the fight.

Great Narrators, Okay Small Town Romance

Some of my favorite narrators so the performance was great! But the story wasn't for me. Very much insta-love and marketed as enemies to lovers but they weren't really enemies haha. But still check it out if you love Laura and are interested!

Amazing story, outstanding performances

In this modern day "Romeo & Juliet" of sorts, we meet Romeo Knight and Demi Crawford. She's Magnolia Falls royalty. He's from the wrong side of town. But nothing is as it seems. The "princess" works really hard in her new coffee shop and lives in the tiny apartment in the back. The "bad boy who went to juvie" is a good son, a hard worker and his "shady past" is the Crawford's fault. He was supposed to hate her, but her smiles and the way she's so perfect won't let him stay away for long.
Romeo is practically being bullied by "The Flamethrower" to go back to the ring. He's being taunted left and right and the money he could make from fighting the man could set him for life. He decides to take the challenge with the support of Demi and his friends. But the past is full of secrets and they're all coming to the surface. It is going to be the fight of his life - but it will be one to keep Demi.
I'm a card-carrying member of Team Golden Boy! I couldn't put down this perfect small town, enemies to lovers, sports romance with a dash of suspense. I'm also completely in love with Magnolia Falls and Romeo's friends and family.
Romeo is your broody, hot, small town hero. Demi is the girl who ignores the silver spoon handed to her at birth and paves her own way. She's loyal to a fault. Their romance is sweet but scorchingly hot and you root for them from the moment they meet.
Linc (Romeo's long lost brother) and Brinkley from Cottonwood Cove make an appearance and - YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES - no third act nonsense!
I can’t sing enough praises for this narrator duo! Samantha Brentmoor embodies Demi to perfection. The young woman who can’t figure out why her handsome neighbor dislikes her so much, the loyal sister who can’t believe her brother is capable of some horrible things, the woman in love (and she does it all over again when she does the voices for the other characters when performing Demi’s POV). Phenomenal.
Connor Crais is equally astounding. He brings the broody boxer to life and he gives us unique voices to every single of the friends. And the ladies. And the kid. And the parents. It’s amazing. Plus he adds all the little details that I love: a sigh, a cough, a laugh. To use a boxing metaphor: it was a knockout! A thousand stars.

No one does Group Thread Banter like Laura Pavlov

I didn't want this book to end. Romeo and Demi did it for me! I felt everything in this book. Such a great story! I had no idea when I read On the Shore that Lincoln's little brother was going to be my new book BF. Romeo Rocks! Demi Rocked! I love when the FMC is strong and an independent thinker. Supportive, thoughtful and not whiny. She was a great fit for these band of brothers.
You know it's going to be good when you are 6 chapters in and the banter and heat has you blushing and laughing and kicking your legs up and down.
Their chemistry jumped!
*Note: I love Conner Crais! I like Samantha Brentmoor just NOT her MMC voices...but Laura Pavlov did so well with the writing for Romeo I could ignore her voice. I was into this story.
The world needs more Demi Crawfords in it.
What do you need?
I need more Demi Crawford too
So we are we doing this?
Yeah Beans we are doing this.

Joey: stop gaping over there at your girl you look like a moron.
Romeo: I'm not a moron just making sure she's ok
Joey: well you didn't deny she was your girl. You are growing up Romeo.
Payton: you 2 sure are spending alot of time together. I think somethings going on.
Romeo: winks. Trust your gut on that Payton.
The fight....had me screaming "Get up Romeo"
Yep! A much needed feel good story.

What a knockout!

This opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine story is one for the books. I can't get enough of Romeo and Demi, their chemistry is off the charts and I love how they went from enemies, to genuine friends, to more.

The real star of the story is five year old Beefcake, who is the biggest ladies man and claims Demi from the start. He's so charming and lovable, you can't help but want to pinch his cheeks through the pages!

I greatly appreciated how gently candid the author handled the addiction storyline. She didn't sugarcoat it like some people tend to do, and for that I feel like the characters had more realistic interactions with each other, even if it was sad to read at times.

I'm so excited to come back to Magnolia Falls as this series progresses. Laura can write no wrong, pun intended.

Side note: I've never hated a character more than someone in this book (IFYKYK) and I had to stop myself from throwing my earbud, kindle, and paperback copy across the room after even more secrets were revealed.

Connor Crais Was The Perfect Romeo

What are you going to do, Romeo? Beat up anyone who scares me?” “Yes. I’d be fine with that. It would be good for my training anyway.”

Narrators: Samantha Brentmoor & Connor Crais
Narration Rating: 5 stars .. when I saw it was this duo ; it was an auto buy for me.
This was my Favorite Small town romance published in January, there was a Romeo and Juliet theme with this book as her family ( politically corupt , influentially wealthy) was at odds with his. They tried to ruin his life, and he really didn't like her opening a coffee shop next to his gym. He had changed his life, owned a business and was a professional boxer . but something in her brought out the protector in him.; with Connor Crais growling .. I was in heaven. And that folks was the whole vibe of this book; him seeing her out and telling her to go inside and lock the door.

Of course she squares her shoulders at him and says no.
the whole banter of them made this one I knew I would listen to again. And Magnolia Falls is my new fave small town.
𐙚 ”you drew stars around my scars” <𝟑 Taylor wrote this song about this couple i am sure of it.

"He thought I was made for him, but he was made for me. Because we fit in a way I never had with anyone else. In a way that made me feel complete.❞

Small town boxing romance

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

I love small town romance but I especially love boxing/MMA romance. This was such a perfect combo. Romeo loves fiercely and is just as stubborn. Why do I love the mean ones in the beginning? I definitely have a thing for the guys who are hard on the outside and a marshmallow for only their girl. 😂 Demi is sweet and loyal and it’s impossible not to fall in love with her and the way she takes care of the people around her. Including her rude neighbor. The spice in this is great and kicks off pretty quickly which I love!
