Publisher's summary

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author, C. L. Stone, read Love's Cruel Redemption, the much-anticipated twelfth book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.

Sang’s life was on pause after the dramatic break with her real family. Now she’s back in the game, returning to Ashley Waters to appear like a normal student. However, returning to school hasn’t made her life any easier. When it comes to the Academy and her role in the secret organization, there’s no such thing as normal.

When Kota’s mother catches Sang and the guys in the complex web of lies they’ve woven, everything starts to unravel: Their relationships, their ties to the Academy. Everything’s under risk of exposure.

Nathan struggles most with his conscience and lying to Erica Lee, the woman who supported him when his own mother was never there, doesn’t seem like the right thing to do. She’s his family and Nathan knows you shouldn’t lie to family. But he also knows the truth could hurt her: It could put Erica in danger. And it could force Kota to make a choice he should never have to: his mother and sister, or his team - his chosen family.

With Ashley Waters High School under attack and the principal now missing, the Academy needs to maintain its cover more than ever. It’s a bad time for Erica to start discovering what the Academy is really all about. But to protect them all, Nathan’s willing to take the heat. He’ll do it for Sang, as well as Kota, Victor, Silas, Gabriel, Luke, North, and the rest of the team. He may be their only chance at survival. But Sang, who committed to be all in with her team, isn’t about to let Nathan go down alone.

Awesome Series!

Another great book by CL Stone in the series. Fantastic writing! From the first through to this one all have been great. Love the pace, the continue build of the storyline, characters and the team as a whole. Looking forward to continuing to read the series. Also love the narration. I don't know how she does it as there as so many characters but she Natalie does an amazing job of bringing something different to all the characters.

I love this series

in my opinion the best RH series there is. No huge jumps, the author explains how the team gets through situations and come together to help out the FMC.

The anticipation is driving me crazy

I love this series so much! And this book was definitely one of my favorites in the series!!I need to know who Valto is!! I need to know what Mr. Hendricks and the other guys are up to, and I need to know if they ever get a house!! I've been on the forums for the books and it seems like there hasn't been any activity in months and I'm dying for an update on this series. Pluss the boys POV of Introductions are still not done! Ahhh. I will have to read them all again, and maybe read Scarb Beetle series while I wait for the next book.

I NEED MORE!

I am obsessed with these books! Beautifully written by C.L, Stone. Not to mention that Natalie Eaton always does a great job narrating. I love the relationship Sang has with each of the boys. This poor girl was sheltered for most of her life and to see her grow and develop in to this lovely young lady is truly a beautiful thing. Keep up the fantastic work! I will be desperately waiting for book audio version!

Need a new narrator !!!

I love the series and I usually only read the books. This is my first time listening to one of the books and omg the narrator was horrible. The voices between people was bad. A male needed to read the male parts. Even for the voice of San the narrator was horrible. It made it painful to get through the story. I won’t be able to finish the audiobook I’ll have to just read it.

The phones are the main characters

Painful to listen to. There is not a lot of difference between the voices, so I often got lost as to who was talking. However, maybe it was the long pauses, long descriptions of minutiae (how many times can we discuss those flipping phones?), the absolutely no forward momentum of the plot and no romance? Hours of listening to paint dry basically. This is a filler book. I cannot fathom why the author wrote it except to make a buck because it doesn't add to the story. Sang is an idiot and runs around saying she "doesn't know what to say" or do or think, so she does NOTHING. She has no personality! I keep expecting her to develop, but she stays the same. It's maddening. The guys have become interchangeable widgets. WHY? Just finish the series, wrap it up.
