Publisher's summary

What’s drawn four damaged people back to Merle House? The answer could destroy them all in a gripping short story of the truths we bury and the lies we tell ourselves.

Matthew, Claire, Ian, and Mason haven’t set foot on the Merle family property since the summer they were sixteen. They tried for years to put their history behind them, to forget the mystery of the girl who vanished so long ago. But a powerful force from their past is still at play. This time, there’s no hiding from it.

Love the Way You Lie is part 4 of House of Crows, a four-part serial about friends with a shared history of darkness. They’ve spent their lives running, but they can no longer hide from the past. Each story can be read or listened to in a single haunted sitting.

Would like in one book

Three of the four parts were good. I enjoyed the ending, thought it was a little drawn out.

Read as part of Book Tuber Naomi's Book Shelf 30/30 less than 100 challenge.

Great Series

Teeter tottering on supernatural and suspense, this series was fast paced and engaging! It did jump back and forth from past to present often and it wasn't the easiest to follow, but I did pick up on it after a moment. Other than that, fantastic listen. Narrators did well!

I'm also not entirely sure why it's broken up into four books when there were clearly cliffhangers and an unresolved storyline on the previous three books. I wish it would've been sold as one book.

Part 4 of a novel.

I don’t know why Audible formats this as 4 stories that don’t stand alone. It is a novel and the formatting is confusing. They should at least put the Part # in the title. The story is gripping. Some expressions and observations are repeated far too many times. The recording is miked differently which is distracting. All in all, Enjoyable.

Loved it

Wish there was more of a twist but I loved it over all. Started the series and finished it in one day.

The legend of The Dark Man

There’s a darkness on this land. The Merle House has a dark history.

Love the Way You Lie concludes the House of Crows series. Lisa Unger has a creative writing voice. Unfortunately, I wasn’t getting the haunting vibes from this read. With so much focus on the house it took away from what was actually happening. This was a character driven driven story that got overcrowded by all the activities of the other three friends.

This story would be visually stunning as a mini series. The audiobook didn’t enhanced my reading experience like I had hoped. Adding eerie music to the background might’ve help create that darkness that Lisa kept alluding to.

Narrators:
James Anderson Foster
Saskia Maarkeveld
Frankie Corzo
Adam Verner
Susannah Jones
Jonathan Davis

I’m unfamiliar with each of these narrators. I did enjoy each performance. I listened at 2X the speed using the audible app. I downloaded the ebook and followed along.
All six narrators return to perform the final book in the series. Being a prime member allowed me to borrow all four books with the audiobooks. I must say they aren’t as exciting as I had hoped. They are an okay listen. I thought these would be darker and scarier.
