About this listen

THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The one and only autobiography by the iconic Lucille Ball, hailed by TV Guide as the “#1 Greatest TV Star of All Time.”

Love, Lucy is the valentine Lucille Ball left for her fans—a warm, wise, and witty memoir written by Lucy herself. The legendary star of the classic sitcom I Love Lucy was at the pinnacle of her success when she sat down to record the story of her life. No comedienne had made America laugh so hard, no television actress had made the leap from radio and B movies to become one of the world’s best-loved performers. This is her story—in her own words.

The story of the ingenue from Jamestown, New York, determined to go to Broadway, destined to make a big splash, bound to marry her Valentino, Desi Arnaz. In her own inimitable style, she tells of their life together—both storybook and turbulent; intimate memories of their children and friends; wonderful backstage anecdotes; the empire they founded; the dissolution of their marriage. And, with a heartfelt happy ending, her enduring marriage to Gary Morton.

Here is the lost manuscript that her fans and loved ones will treasure. Here is the laughter. Here is the life. Here’s Lucy...

“The comic actress in her own words…intensely moving.” —San Francisco Chronicle

Lucie Arnez , did a great narrative. She sounds just like her mom , you could tell it was a labor of love to her mom and dad.

Felt closer to my childhood hero

The opening introduction by Lucie touched me very deeply. The stories and life of Lucille Ball are wonderful but hearing it told by het daughter made it more special.
Lucille Ball was so much more than we ever really knew. I’m so glad I heard this. Great history of how old Hollywood was but also lovely personal touch making you feel like you were there.

A must listen to

What a wonderful glimpse in to the world of Lucille Ball from her view point. The fact that her daughter read it was even better and she was by far one of the best readers I have ever listened to on here. She really made both of her parents come to life through her reading. I was very sad when it ended because I was so wrapped up into this.

Over the Moon about this Audiobook!

First I must say that Lucy Arnaz should read every audiobook about Americans from the 20th century and beyond. I can hear her mother in her voice and what an amazingly animated reader she is! A performer. A master of accents, intonation and when there were some very emotional moments in her mothers' story I could hear the slightest catch in her voice. The same when she reads the parts about her Dad. I'm seeing the life of an American Icon as she was. A real woman in amazing times. I haven't finished it yet but I am dreading the end. I want to stay forever. A stupendous Audiobook!

Love Lucy

Who knew Lucille Ball was such a great writer.
The story was very interesting and informative.
Lucie is one of the best narrators I’ve heard on Audible . I wish she would read some other books as well. She did an extraordinary job interpreting the scenes, with humor and even Desi’s accent. I hope to hear her in the future. I highly recommended this book.
