About this listen

Cassandra Stephenson is dead. So is her good name.

Bereaved widow Monica had the perfect marriage. For 30 years, she and college sweetheart Cassie made a home, built a business, and celebrated their love with hardly a secret between them, until Cassie dies in a tragic accident. Then, all the secrets are let loose, like the sins from Pandora’s box.

Monica was not the only one. From around the world, three women step forward to claim the inheritance Cassie left behind.

Four wives. One unbelievable story.

Italian model Gabriella, Ecuadorian journalist Pilar, and Hong Kong secretary Amanda all knew a different Cassie. Now that they’re in Chicago fighting for the money Cassie left them, they see the love of their lives for who she really was.

A liar. A cad. A woman with too much love, and not enough sense.

So beginls the tumultuous testimonies that bring four women together in one lawyer’s office. Yet, while two immediately fall for one another, one more is left searching for meaning in her short but notable existence.

And Monica uncovers one last secret about their beloved Cassie. A shocking truth that will hurl all four widows into their new futures–and new romances.

Love After Death is an unconventional romance about love, lies, and lawyers. It has not one, but two hard-earned HEAs!

Good book!

I got this because it was a daily deal, and I’ve recently discovered I do like books with romance when they depict non hetero relationships.
This book kept me engaged and the narration was really good.

My gosh…I went in thinking this was going thinking this book was going to be one thing then it went another direction. Absolutely loved how each woman hade their point of views seen. The ending oh I loved it. I’m truly becoming more and more of a fan of these ladies. Highly recommend this totally worth the purchase.

Amazing

There's never a doubt that a Hildred Billings book is gonna be great but that is a true understatement when it comes to this book. With enough twists and turns that it is impossible to put down. I read this book when it first came out and just purchased it on Audible. Eugenie Dangler is outstanding with the accents of Gabriel and Pilar. If you read  or listen to this book, you won't be disappointed.

Interesting book

l liked this book, it was an interesting story, interesting in the way it was written, although I guessed the end towards the middle of it. What I liked was the narration, this saved the audio company a lot of money because Eugenia Danglar is a very talented narrator, she succeeded to create 3 different accents so well.

Love After Death

An interesting read. I’ve never read anything by this author and was interested in the theme. I anticipated what was happening but really didn’t like how Monica behaved after. Some was understandable but upon her discovery, the manner in which she dealt with the situation seemed so contrived and didn’t feel like love. The conclusion was pretty good though. Interesting characters, relationships, lives and exposure to different countries.

Not a fan of the narrator. She did a great job on the characters with accents but not Monica and Cassie.

Well Performed and Nicely Written

I really enjoyed listening to Love After Death. The story is intriguingly. written with twist and turns that will keep you engaged. Danglar did a great job performing all the characters. Another book I'll listen to several times.

Interesting plotline....

This was another "new to me" author that I found during the Audible Sale of the Day. The summary sounded interesting and I thought, "why not?"

The storyline started a bit shaky. It felt like it took a little bit of time before the story actually started to take off. We eventually get several POV's for this story, but the beginning has us starting off immediately with Monica's POV - she is the legal spouse of Cassie. To me, I thought, "oh no" when I heard something like "......and that was before I found out she was evil incarnate" (that is not the exact phrase, just the feeling that I got from the phrase). So, I thought, oh boy, this is going to get really crazy - not in a good way.

Well, the story actually did get pretty crazy, but definitely in a good way. Yes, there are multiple POV's and some are better than others. I listened to most of this on audio and felt that the narrator did a great job.

There were a couple of twists in the story, but there was enough foreshadowing that I figured things out WAY before the big reveal. There was honestly a bit of a let down with the final conflict. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but whatever it was, I didn't get it.

All in all, I enjoyed this book. It was a pretty unique plotline with interesting characters.

Delicious Drama

This book is such a great unfolding of the drama from a dead woman leaving her riches to four wives. I loved each and every one of the women's stories, and their HEAs were very satisfying after all they went through. The narrator did a great job with all four voices, didn't even sound like the same person.
