About this listen

In a world where I had no say, violence became my refuge. Nothing else mattered, not even my own life, until her: Skyler Bell.

It all started the first time I heard that voice, giving me hope for tomorrow. My first love was everything all at once - consuming, maddening, forever, mine.

Except I never imagined there were secrets that needed to be shared, lies that needed to be confessed, truths that needed to be told, demons that needed to be buried.

Once I realized that the depth, the longing, and the sadness and sorrow in her eyes mirrored my own, it was too late.

Love didn’t come to me as heartbreak; it came as everything I’d ever desired.

Walking away wasn’t an option I wanted; it was the only one I had.

I finally found the price of love, and it cost me my soul.

trigger warnings warranted

this book was heart wrenching in a good way. you get what you want out of the ending but man do you have to work to get there. the way the story is told is confusing and drawn out. very little spice. but it was good as far as connecting with the characters.

A Must Read!

OMG, the readers went together so well it was magic. You could feel the emotion from one chapter to the next. It just kept going with the love from one another whether it felt toxic at some points to being unbearable at others. I love this story and how it just came alive as I listened to it. This was the first story that I listened to from M. Robinson and I am so excited to read another one. Addison Barnes and Brian Callanan I love you both together so much! This one is definitely on the re-listen to list!

The Accent

The story is good. But as someone who grew up in the South, Noah’s accent makes me want to puncture my eardrums. It’s over exaggerated and too twangy and just... bad. And mercy hearing the line from Annie over and over and over was too much.

Get your tissues out! 🫣

OMG what a story! Noah and Skylar’s story is heart breaking. This book is one of those that was so well written that they will live in your minds forever. I’m so sad it’s come to an end. Noah captured my heart from the beginning. The Jameson boys are Bikers with a heart despite all the f’d up things they had to endure in their lives. I love the way author weaved all the previous characters within the story line. M Robinson is hands down one of my top 3 authors who write dark sexy books! Totally worth the credit. I don’t normally reread or listen to a book once I’ve read it, however I will definitely reread this and Creed’s story again. 🥰🤗

Lost Boy is OUTSTANDING

I finished reading LOST Boy months ago, and I have yet to forget this amazing story. And when I had the chance to download one of my favorite stories of 2018 in an audiobook? I jumped all over the opportunity to hear the story again. I haven't listened to an audiobook by Monica before, and I was way excited for this one. Overall, I loved hearing the story that stole my heart much like Noah had reading LOST boy for the first time... and I knew I was lost all over again to the exceptional storytelling that is a book by M. Robinson. My Review of the book remains unchanged and I have provided it below. Its unequivocally a five-star story and I loved every second of listening to it. Much like when I read the book initially, I remember struggling to put words to my review and still wanting to give a truly honest recounting of my experience so I gave the performance 4.5 stars instead of the five I wanted to give it. You see, I loved Addison Barnes, who voiced Skyler Bell with a perfection that I don't think another could have put to her character. I liked Brian Callanan, who voiced Noah... but unfortunately, something about his performance wasn't as epic as I anticipated. He was sexy enough with a rough, raspy and deep voice yet somehow I didn't feel his emotions the way I did while I 'read' Noah last year. Still, please don't misunderstand, there was nothing wrong with Brian's voice, and it was SUPER hot hearing him voicing Noah's dirty talking, I wouldn't call it perfection either. That said.... I also will be listening to this whenever I am missing the younger Jameson brother and I definitely feel the need to listen to more of Monica's audiobooks!

Lost Boy Review:

I finished LOST Boy three days ago, and I had to work on this review every day since. You see, I truly didn’t know where to start… how to tell you that I loved LOST Boy on a whole new level from M. Robinson’s previously released 15 books. There is no denying the talents that M possess or that she’s a favorite author of mine. There are special features to M. Robinson’s work that you will quickly extract and I love every one of them. First, the character growth and development. Unlike most authors in the romance world, M. Robinson doesn’t start her characters' journeys when they meet one another… Oh no, she takes you much farther back to their early lives, to moments that help shape their characters. She makes you fall in-love with her perfectly imperfect characters. M writes dramatic romances with stories that are full of twist and turns and I love her brand of overly angsty, super sexy, full of shock and awe romance. I never know where the stories are headed; they are in essence as far from predicable as they possibly could get. And having read every one of those books, I was prepared to want to throw my kindle and to cry – although I am not known for being prone to tears and it truly takes a lot for a book to break me. That said, LOST Boy did… it broke me repeatedly. I would desperately love to offer far more than the five measly stars that I am limited to with regard to the review. And I hope that while reading this review, you decide to one-click LOST Boy… because I promise you… PROMISE YOU that this book will blow. your. mind! LOST Boy is beautifully destructive and M. Robinson’s best work yet.

As I mentioned that M. Robinson is one of my favorite authors. I have read all 15 of her previous books over the course of the last 3 years and I have read them more than once. As a rule, they’re well edited with possibly a minor error here or there and the same can be said for LOST Boy. But what I find remarkable is that she manages to spin utterly unique tales with each book that is going to unequivocally affect readers on multiple planes. You see, with each book M. Robinson writes she sets a personal goal to go after your heart, your mind and your everything! That may seem dramatic, but I promise you, it’s as close to the truth as I could possibly put into words. Since I social media stalk her, I have seen her live chats where she admits to striving towards those outcomes. And if you read her books, you’ll find that M. Robinson successfully raises the level of emotion that the reader will journey within the story.

In the case of LOST Boy, M. Robinson had her work cut out for her as Noah Jameson, the hero, had appeared in a leading role in her Road to Nowhere/Ends Here duet. Now, I must say that I have always been #TeamCreed and the divide was absolute in the past. However, after LOST Boy, I am now #TeamJameson all the way. Noah’s story is written exquisitely well and careful attention was paid to keeping LOST Boy a true standalone. Yes, events within the RtN/EH duet helped shape his character and those instances are addressed within LOST Boy, but only the events that were specifically relevant to Noah’s character development. Prior to the release of LOST Boy, my favorite book by M. Robinson was Creed’s duet (RtN/EH) and my anticipation for Noah Jameson to have his own story has been 18 months in the making. However, that same anticipation led me to doubt whether M could do true justice to Noah’s story if these events weren’t addressed properly. I must say that I never should have doubted M. Robinson’s abilities. She couldn’t have written a more perfect book for Noah than LOST Boy. And while not everyone loves Noah’s brand of dirty talking, tatted up bad boy alpha, he is the perfect BBF for me! He made this book more than just sexy a. f.; Noah set my heart galloping. You will not only need a change of panties after this one, you’ll need spare batteries!!! 😉 With M’s books, you always get perfectly imperfect characters who have enough chemistry between the H/h to ignite your kindle. She doesn’t write characters that are easy to love. However, like the saying goes, all the best things in life you have to work for and M works for it!!! You’ll undoubtedly love them, and they will stick with you long after you finish the book. Noah and Skyler are just such characters. When I started reading LOST Boy, I thought she had finally written a flawless individual in Skyler Bell, the heroine of Lost Boy. Only about halfway through this book, Skyler’s ‘imperfections’ are brought to light, and they grow as the book progresses. By the conclusion of the book with the relentless revelations regarding Skyler’s past you can not help but have fallen head-over-heals for the character even while your heart has been repeatedly broken by (and for) her! Although she may not seem like an overly troubled individual, Skyler’s a very deep character with a very traumatic past. Her layers are laid bare in true over-the-top M. Robinson fashion. Additionally, unlike past books by M, Skyler is a brand-new character. She holds no connection to those characters who have starred in past books. And I daresay this injection of new blood will give M many new storylines to explore down the road. One thing is for certain, we have certainly not seen the last of Skyler and Noah because M always gives readers the chance to catch up with her past characters by allowing them to appear in cameos in each other’s books.

My expectations for LOST Boy were quite high and yet, M. Robinson managed to exceed my wildest hopes. When you think that an author cannot possibly do better than a past book, you should be prepared for them to blow you away at some point and that’s just what I found with LOST Boy. The storyline is relevant to movements currently seen in our lives on a national stage and this was my favorite story that M. Robinson has written. It truly will leave you breathless and seriously hot. I can’t imagine that anyone who reads LOST Boy reviewing it as less than a 5-Star book. Instead of reading more reviews, possibly spoiling this exceptional book, one-click LOST Boy right now and start reading your next 5-Star book! You’ll end up as spellbound by M. Robinson’s work as I was years ago.
