Great Information- Terrible Reader

The droning monotone of the reader and the appalling mispronunciation stagger the imagination. This is such great information but so difficult to listen to, the effort required to finish this audiobook is tremendous.

The food for the internal spirit

I would say without a doubt, it was a great understanding, even though it was mixed and washed a little. It was very very pleasing to my soul to listen. Great job to all who had put this together it had me locked in for awhile.

narrative was well done

Everything in the book was done quite well, from the content to narration of the work. the contrast of other acknowledged works to enlighten the similarities and differences was enjoyed by me.

The text is good the reading lacks.

The recording isnt fantastic but its listenable. My biggest complaint is how the guy reads it. I cant figure out if he is trying to sound ominous or if he is trying not to disturbed someone where he is at while he is reading, or if he is just doing a bad Darth Vader. Just read the text stop doing this weird whisper while your deepening your voice. I guess someone needs to let this guy know God isnt scary and this isnt a horror novel.

Meh

I have only stopped a book because if the narrarator one time before. This will be the second time. PRONUNCIATION IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. An example is the pronunciation of Paul. Pauo is NOT an acceptable pronunciation of this name. Too many evident lazy speaking, enunciation and pronunciation habits. I listened to this for about 15min. Then realized there were over 53 hours left. No way could I handle this type of auditory torture. I am interested in the subject, so I will be finding another version.

Tha actual scriptures

Reading of the lost scriptures and good commentary. I’ve listened to several other Nag Hammadi books that were just commentaries on the text without including the actual scriptures. Narrator could go a little faster and drop the movie preview voice.

Readers voice

From the beginning of the book the readers voice annoyed me, like he was trying too hard to be diabolical. Finally I think when the chapters on jubilees start you hear his real normal voice, but then it goes back.

Made it hard for me to focus and not try to take any of it seriously-

Great book but difficult to listen to.

The reader sounds like he’s trying to be mysterious. He reads slow and try’s to make his voice deep. I had to speed it up to make it more palatable. He also doesn’t pronounce the letter l in most all of the words that have an l in it’s spelling. Very odd.
