Publisher's summary

Michael Robotham's Suspect, hailed as "a lightning-paced debut" by Entertainment Weekly, was an international best seller that raised the bar for thrillers. Now two characters from that acclaimed novel, Detective Vincent Ruiz and psychologist Joe O'Loughlin, return for the electrifying Lost. When Detective Ruiz is pulled from the Thames, he has a bullet in his leg, a photograph of a missing (and presumed dead) girl in his pocket, and absolutely no memory of what happened.

Get lost in a great mystery!

This is 2nd in a series, but I followed this volume fine as a stand-alone. I liked the protagonist, Detective Ruiz, whose background adds depth to the story. The book has an intriguing array of characters and a gripping mystery -- a fun ride as Ruiz unravels his memory loss and crime simultaneously.

Wanted to download the first in the series (Suspect), but none of Robotham's books are available currently. I hope this a temporary situation!

Narrator does a good job with the varying accents and characters.

Excellent

What made the experience of listening to Lost the most enjoyable?

The narrators delightful accent.

Would you recommend Lost to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes. It was a good book with a solid plot and a plausible twist.

Have you listened to any of Ray Lonnen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. He performs consistently well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I'd like to read all of Michael Robotham's books in one sitting!

Any additional comments?

Excited to see another book has been added to the series. I look forward to reading it.

Emotionally involving

Would you consider the audio edition of Lost to be better than the print version?

I couldn't say as I have not read the print version. I enjoyed the audio very much though.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, I didn't have an extreme reaction to this book at all. I enjoyed it and I was hoping all the way through for a certain outcome so I was involved as I read. It kept me guessing.

Any additional comments?

Great characters and it was fun to listen to this second book because the author turns things around and we get the perspective of another character rather than his main character in the series. It was fun to see things through his eyes. A nice twist.

Good story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend the book to all that like a good criminal- and mind reading (meaning Dr.Joseph O'Loughlin) story.

What did you like best about this story?

Don't know what was best. I few things bothered me such as how the detective had physical endurance to make his inquiring as he did. But it is fiction, right??

Which character – as performed by Ray Lonnen – was your favorite?

I must say that Mr. Lonnen is not quit to my liking reading this book. Many characters where good, like the doctor and his wife for instant. But detective Ruiz was so soft and so different from the book The Sucpect that he lost my a little, if you know what I mean.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes,and I listened every minute I had to do so!

Surprisingly excellent

This book did not have that great of review and it was not very expensive so I did not have high expectations. However, it was excellent! I normally just listen to books when traveiing. This book traveled with me throughout the day until late into the night until I finished it. I could not put it down.

Narrator detracts

I didn't finish the book, so I can't fairly rate the author. I've greatly enjoyed a couple of Robotham's other books in this series, however, and will keep going with the series. I didn't like this narrator, so I quit. By contrast, the narrators for books 1 and 9, although different, are excellent.

Lost has found captive listener!

Unusual story, exciting, thoughtful, well-plotted. Characters so well described I could recognize them in a crowd, and numerous unexpected twists in plot and motives. Ruiz is a flawed, but heroic policeman who keeps struggling to make right an unforgiving society. I loved every moment of this story, and hated to see it end. More, please!

Gripping from opening lines

This is an example of the perfect match between narrator and spoken word. The tension and intrigue is there from the minute the book gets underway and I look forward to hearing more from both the author and narrator.
