Publisher's summary

Before the apocalypse is all said and done, it's going to have to survive Lockey.

Meet Erin Locke, snark-filled resident of Northwest England and general ignorer of social norms. All's going well enough for her on June 23, but then some people died, and then more people died, and then those people stopped being dead, and then the biting kicked in, and before you know it she's fighting zombies, leaping over walls and climbing to rooftops to stay alive.

But it's not just about staying alive, and after she befriends Particles the pug (don't worry, he lives) and Nate (former SAS operator who is the Yin to her Yang) Lockey comes to the realization that it isn't enough to hide, and loot canned goods.

She can build a future.

One worth fighting for.

All three books in this set are set in the Adrian's Undead Diary universe, and are edited by creator Chris Philbrook. Lockey's story tells of the English apocalypse, in step with Adrian's American experience.

Contained within:

No More Heroes:

On June 23, the dead inexplicably awaken with murderous resolve. For the first days, Erin Locke—Lockey to her friends—survives alone as England collapses with shocking speed.

With her sense of humor, goofy insights, and can-do attitude, she chronicles her adventures in a journal to keep her spirits and sanity intact. She befriends retired Royal Marine Nate Carter, and the unlikely duo find themselves a place to call home.

Her new security is threatened by an encounter with survivors that ends in blood, and a vengeful hunt by the dead man’s brother begins. After skirmishes with the feudal lord of their new lawless land, they learn they're the only chance of salvation for innocents enslaved by the warlord and are forced to act.

There are no heroes left, so it's up to a fast-talking, foul-mouthed woman and a deadly, middle-aged ex-marine.

We Will Rise:

Grieving tragic loss, Lockey and Nate shift to acquiring resources for their new community’s survival, but something dark stirs.

An eerie shift in the behaviour of the dead makes Lockey’s apocalypse experience feel personal, and she has no idea why she appears to be the sole target for their rage.

Convinced something otherworldly is at play, yet torn by questions she can’t answer, Lockey puts her boundless energy into building a safe home for her people. It's fleeting though, for a new threat, obsessed with dominion over the dwindling number of locals appears.

Investigating this new peril while searching for survivors - and hoping for answers to the questions that plague her days—Lockey and Nate discover this threat is far more menacing than they could imagine....

...as dreams of light and dark commence.

The Devil's Due:

Lockey’s community continues to expand, but clashes with others increase in intensity. Reunited with old friends and finding new, things take a dark turn when the Nomads take a personal interest in her. Selected by an unknowable force to lead one of humanity’s last bastions of defense in a war against the dead, the Dark will use any weapon to ensure her failure.

As Lockey and Nate search for the final member of their mystical trio, their dreams haunted by ghosts, the Nomad threat grows, putting Lockey’s heart through its worst crucible yet.

Despite the eruption of conflicts, Lockey’s confrontation with Maddock is inevitable: both are champions for the forces at play. Countless lives depend on the outcome; one a flame of hope for humanity, the other a warlord of the dead.

this series is amazing, with a lot of smart ass sarcasm in it. this is one of the best zombie apocalypse series I've read so far. if you like zombie books or post apocalyptic books, then you should definitely read these ones.

a fun take on other parts of the world

I have really enjoyed this version of the AUD take. I am a fairly crude talker but even I was offended for the 1st 30 minutes and almost turned it off and returned it. however I pushed past the commentary and I am glad I did. turned out to be a really good book! stick with it, fast forward if needed none of that was important to the story

Mind blowingly good

I don’t know how to review this box set.

For starters, buy it now.

I’ve never laughed so hard at a book in my life. My wife’s probably tired of hearing about it.

Hands down the best narration for an Audio book ever.

Characters are amazing, funny as hell, intriguing, and did I mention funny?

As an avid Zombie reader, this was the most engaged I’ve been in awhile. A new twist on the apocalypse.

Seriously, I need a TV series now.

Zombie story with a heart?

I stumbled on this after discovering and finishing the initial 8 “Adrian’s Undead Diary” books. I generally avoid fan fiction as I usually find it pretty cringe. This series completely changed my mind.
Carl Meadows has written a solid story and brought to life characters that can completely stand alone in Adrian’s world. You don’t have to have read the original series (but you’d be missing out if you didn’t) for this one to make sense.
Also it’s an omnibus! You’d have to be a complete bellend to pass up on a 3 for 1!

Get in there and meet Lockey and Nate, fall in love with Freya and Particles, and laugh your way through the Zombie Apocalypse.

You need this Omnibus in your life!

I'm a huge fan of AUD, which is what led me to Lockey. It could be completely unrelated to AUD and I'd love it. The relationship between the two main characters is amazing and the humor is top notch and kept me rolling without feeling forced. The only thing that pisses me off is I bought the first three books individually, and you Dear Reader get the deal of an Omnibus! I can't wait for the next book to come out.

A smashing success!

This was an amazing spin off by Carl Meadows in the AUD universe. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys great storytelling, has read any of the AUD books, or loves zombie apocalypse books.

Love Lockey and Nate and little Particles

I don't often re-listen to books, but this one has sucked me back in. I had forgotten how much I enjoy this series. I'm an AUD fan, and I love this view from across the pond. Lockey is a hoot, I love Nate, and Particles is just the best! I can't wait to read the next installments.

Side note: I found that 1.2 speed is the right one for me. Normal speed is too soothing, and 1.5 is too frenetic and stresses me out. I've never monkeyed with the speed setting to change my listening experience, but someone in a previous review suggested it, and I found 1.2 is the sweet spot for me on this book. I love this narrator. She does a fantastic job, and I hope she sticks around for the other million books I hope to see out of this author. Keep them coming!

Lockey rocks!!

I can't emphasize enough how amazing this book set is.

You can read this before Adrians Undead Diary IMO. But you must read both.

This writing is hilarious, heartfelt and just.. I don't have enough words.

The performance matches perfectly. She read this as if she were actually Lockey and I felt every moment.

If you like zompoc put this on your list. In fact move it to the top of your list where it belongs.
