About this listen

This isn't a game. This is his new life.

An epic LitRPG adventure about a family trapped in a game-world called Eloria with no way out.

Dave has been wandering through life for a long time. His day job bores him, and he never seems to be able to meet his family's expectations. The only escape he's ever had is his love of MMORPGs.

But when he becomes the subject of a test without even knowing it, he's transported into a game-world called Eloria with no escape. It's a frequent daydream of his; however, in none of those dreams did his wife and daughter ever accompany him.

Now, Dave must balance protecting his family with exploring his dream...oh, and trying to stay alive. Monstrous beasts roam Eloria; worst of all, an undead army led by the vile Death Knight.

He'll have to adapt fast and learn to cooperate if he hopes to make a new home for his family. And just maybe, along the way, he'll find out why they're living a life in exile.

Experience the first three books in a LitRPG saga perfect for fans of C.M Carney, Blaise Corvin, and Charles Dean.

Narrated by Peter Berkrot (Alpha World, Earth Force). More than 50 hours.

Great story with realistic characters

it's pretty standard Litrpg fare story wise, fantasy stat blocks all that goodness, the characters are very believable, anyone who says otherwise has probouly either never been a parent or has somehow convinced themselves that the hyper-competent op nature of many Litrpg MC's is the realistic depiction.

LITRPG for the Whole Family

The story is quite enjoyable.

I really enjoy the game elements of the story.

I enjoy the magic system of the game and feel it is really well written out.

The one thing I struggle with is the relationship between the family members. The wife is always attacking the husband for the actions he makes. Then a few of the family members hear voices in their heads, and don't talk about it.

The main character (Dave) also has some clearly odd behavioral and mindset changes affecting him that he recognizes are happening but doesn't seek to discuss it with his family. If I had this happening to me after moving to a new world, I'd definitely want to seek some input. If nothing else to help me make sure that it isn't magic manipulation happening to me. I'd be concerned about slow manipulation gradually changing me to be someone I don't want to be.

So voices in my head and new emotions are the biggest concerns with the family not working on them together.

Also they are able to review notifications and some of the notifications have told them they are only going to be offered help once. And yet the other family members don't even bring up the fact that they have "outstanding" offers of help they could "cash in" on. The offer of help is from the watchers who moved them to a new world as help for moving to a new world.

That being said, I've already bought the next book because I've really enjoyed the story as a whole.

One of the best LitRPG series!

Great story! Great writing! Narrator performance is top notch. The isekai family approach is refreshing and relatable. I was worried the author was taking on too much with family unit for MCs, but Sean develops each character so well. As an omnibus this is one of the greatest values on audible. Well worth the credit used and I’m excited to start the next book.

Great story but

Will someone please tell Emily to shut up? She’s consistently proven wrong but at almost every turn she doubles down rather than conceding a point until after the fact. It’s very frustrating.

adequate time killer.

basically a story about your average gen x suburban family getting thrown into another world. An overly PC soccer mom seeks to hold selfishly on to her own world views, while the beta male husband attempts to apply game logic to the new world they find themselves in. As a result of their self serving nature, their kids are put through extensively traumatic situations.
