Heart, determination, and triumph

This is the story of a boy who fell in love with wrestling before he was able to walk. Born with achondroplasia, a condition that causes disproportionate dwarfism, Dylan Postl had endured multiple surgeries by the age of 12. And yet, he held on to the dream that he would one day become a professional wrestler. Ignoring the naysayers and against doctors' recommendations, Postl began training in his teens, and he soon began appearing on local independent shows. Before he turned 20, he was signed by WWE to play the role of Irish grappler Finlay's feisty sidekick, Hornswoggle, and remained a fixture in the company for a full decade.

While most of Postl's adult life has been spent in the wild world of the wrestling industry, his is more than a story of a little person's journey through a world of giants; it's a memoir of elation and anguish, triumph and disappointment, and of how an endlessly positive outlook combined with the unwavering support of family and friends helped a long shot become a success in his industry and a loving, responsible father.

Unexpectedly great book

I dived into the book not knowing what I’d be getting out of it. As it turns out, I loved it! Dylan does a great balance of personal life and pro wrestling. Great stories. And he has no problem criticizing himself at times, which is what we all want, honesty! I came out of it as a bigger fan of “Hornswoggle” and Dylan that I ever have before. The frustrations of being a WWE talent prominently put on display here, and, once again, I thank him for the honesty in this book.

Great book

I wasn't sure what to expect since I was never a big "Hornswoggle" fan - in fact outside of the WeeLC match, I can't really think of anything I remember him doing as I didn't watch wrestling for most of his run. BUT I was going on a kick of reading all the wrestling books on Audible and this was one - so I said I'll give it a download and see how it goes.

With that said this was a really fun. Hornswoggle doesn't suffer from the "woe is me" dramaqueen stuff and as such the book is 100000x better. There's lot of stories, lots of travels, and a lot about WWE.

If you just want to read a wrestling book this is for you.
If you just want an enjoyable read, this is the book for you.
If you just want to read an entertaining book, this is the book for you.

Also Dylan does a great job on his own narration.

Relatable and Inspiring

Being in the independent wrestling scene I listen/read all the books I can. I always respected Dylan as performer and loved his work on tv but after listening to this book he earned alot more respect as the person behind the character he portrayed as we shared some of the same experiences as a kid with our family dynamics. I recommend this book to everyone and definitely worth the time to listen/read.
