About the Creator

Cadance Bell is an Australian author, showrunner, producer, director and writer. Her memoir The All of It: A Bogan Rhapsody was published by Penguin to critical acclaim and shortlisted for The Age Book of the Year. Her first fiction novel, Letters to Our Robot Son, is a modern science fiction epic./n/n As a showrunner and screenwriter, Cadance is developing numerous scripted television projects and her first feature film, Seouls. Her prior documentary films include The Rainbow Passage and Who I Am, the world’s first documentary exploring the intersection of gender diversity and autism./n/n Cady is the founder of Threeki, which seeks to promote mindful kindness and the annual Rainbow Day. Her mission is to ‘unmake prejudice’ by encouraging audiences to know LGTBQIA+ stories. She was the first transgender person to become a champion of Women’s Health Week.

About the Performer

Stig Wemyss is Australia’s most loved narrator of audiobooks for children and young adults. He is the voice of some of Australia’s most accomplished authors, including Andy Griffiths, Paul Jennings, Tim Winton, Markus Zusak, Anh Do and Tristan Bancks. He was the recipient of the ABIA audiobook of the year award three times, including for the widely acclaimed debut novel by Trent Dalton, Boy Swallows Universe. Engaging and heart warming

This book teaches us that no matter how much evil exists in the world and how hopeless things may seem, there will always be more good, and there will always be hope if we’re willing to let go of the desire and illusions of control and just be kind to those we can reach. I loved it. The narrator also did a wonderful job with what I think would have been so difficult for just anyone to portray.

Unexpectedly deep and touching

I didn't know what to expect from this story or author but am so glad I listened. The story goes along cheerfully introducing us to a futuristic world until a sharp turn in the action dramatically steps up the stakes and really hooks you in until the end. I loved it!

Slow start but give it time

you will find yourself wanting more but the end just allow the slow start to play it's course. it's worth it.

Stupid Intro Broke the Experience

The awakening consciousness procedure was unbearable. I listened further, but portions were just too reminiscent of the absurdity of that opening.

Awakening to thought but having the capacity for complex words and sentences was STUPID. Beyond that, it was so dumb that it was STOOPID.

That, and the main character imagined kittens to be of advanced intelligence.

sections of filler was too long but in the end the condensed concept of the story was veey good

so unique

I've never encountered such a story before. premise was interesting, the characters engaging and if course the performance was quite wonderful. The story is beautifully written and the pride glorious.
