About this listen

Once Leota's garden was a place of beauty - where flowers bloomed and hope thrived. It was her refuge from the deep wounds inflicted by a devastating war, her sanctuary where she knelt before a loving God and prayed for the children who couldn't understand her silent sacrifices. At 83, Leota is alone; her beloved garden is in ruins. All her efforts to reconcile with her adult children have been fruitless. She voices her despair to a loving Father, her only friend. And God brings a wind of change through unlikely means: one, a college student who thinks he has all the answers; the other, the granddaughter Leota never hoped to know. But can the devastation wrought by keeping painful family secrets be repaired before she runs out of time?

Forgiveness

Another faith building story. Rivers gets right at the core of family dysfunction and a real way to love each other. Assumptions and views of the past are lurking and creating a root of bitterness that is so naturally nursed and tended that we don't see its cost and depths of despair and regret that come as a package deal. The theme? Forgive first, forgive often, forgive freely because Jesus forgave me

Fell Short of My Expectation

I am a Francine Rivers fan but this book had so much repetitive whinning that I wanted to stop after chapter 3!

I stuck it out and although nicely crafted with the unexpected death of Leota, much to my dissappointment, it ended well.

Not my favorite book but would not recommend for a book club.

Still a Francine Rivers fan

Heartfelt

I enjoyed this book very much. It released good feelings, sorrowful feelings, and laughter in my heart and mind. I have always liked whatever Francine Rivers has written. Sometimes it was hard to distinguish the characters, but I truly appreciated this story.

Wonderful story!

I have read Leo's Garden twice and listened to the audio book 3 times now. A great story that can be applied to life. I never work outside without thinking of God's beauty and this story.

Beautiful

Curious and intriguing about a estranged relationship with family. Sad but filled with tenacity of faith, love and compassion.
