Publisher's summary

Marseille, 1815.

Excellent!

The narrator did a phenomenal job! This has got to be one of the best audio book performances I've ever listened to.

Monte-Cristo. Tomo 1. Supremo.

Excelente libro. Me gustó mucho.

Great story.

Beginning of the book was brilliant but the second part, Paris stay, is somehow a bit more slow or heavy to listen.
Performance is always very good.
I'll buy Tome 2 right now.
Enjoy this book :-)

bravo

Great rendition of a great classic.

The story is classic, beautifully woven together in an expansive narrative (conveniently long for many hours of enjoyment) full of adventure, tragedy, revenge but also comedy and hope.

The narrator has a very enjoyable voice, and through his expression gives additional life to the story far beyond reading. For example, I found that the narrator renders the full impact of the funnier scenes, causing outright laughter.

I chose this book to test out audiobooks. I was unsure of the format, but thought the poetic writing style of Dumas would lend itself to being read aloud. My expectations were far exceeded, and this book has rescued tedious hours folding laundry or and executing simple but time consuming tasks at work.
