About this listen

Minx Montgomery's only light in a terrible childhood was her neighbor and best friend, Mouse. When he left Texas at the age of 17, she never heard from him again, though she's never forgotten him either. She moved in with her uncle, went to college and became a counselor. Her supervisor at the clinic sexually harassed her. Reporting him backfired. Demoted, she's transferred to another branch in the city - to the same district she'd finally managed to escape.

Laszlo Jensen, a former SEAL, has spent the last two years recovering from the damage done when his squad's truck drove over an antitank landmine. Six other team-mates were also badly hurt, the seventh - Mouse - dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap set to take them out. He and his teammate Geir are trying to learn more about Mouse’s history. Was the whole squad targeted with that landmine, or just their youngest, newest member? The truth is more disturbing and senseless than they'd anticipated. Who was Mouse really?

Minx may be the only person who knew the boy that later became a dangerous, hunted man…

Dale Mayer is one of the most dedicated wtiters I've cime across in a long time.

Dale puts forth the effort and conviction to make her stories seem true. These seals are portraited in very real terms. The whole series runs true to the facts. Great bunch of men trying to help the less fortunate. Must be read in order.

Laszlo

This is the 5th book in this series. Laszlo has his job set out for him to get information about their SEAL team member who died in the bombing. He has been partnered with Geir. But it is Minx who has his protective alpha male up in arms. She knew Mouse as a childhood friend. And in normal fashion is this series where ever the men go for answers, trouble rears it's ugly head. More death is happening. What secrets are hidden about the man they thought they knew. His past is not a pretty one and with the help of Minx, his childhood is revealed leaving those left with even more questions. Will they ever get the answers or will it lead to more dead ends? I enjoyed the narration and am now listening to the next book.
