About this listen

Two novels in one audiobook!

In Penny Dreadful: Killings in LA appear to be copycat murders based on the Tate-LaBianca slayings. Kolchak meets Domino Patrick, daughter of the original Domino Lady, and learns that the killings are the work of one of the Manson girls.

In Time Stalker, Dan Sutton encounters Janos Skorzeny in 1943 and is attacked by the vampire just as he begins the transformation into the pulp hero, Zero. This propels him and Skorzeny forward in time. Sutton meets Kolchak, and they track the vampire.

The gentleman reading the story was terrible.

The narrator made it hard to listen. Love Kolchak stories and these were great. I would love more please.

Good Kolchak , good….

Worth the listen for Carl K. Fans but the performance was awful. It sounds like a mechanical voice failure. But the plot and 2 stories were good.

Story great.

Loved the stories. Will listen to again. The voice actor is ok. I loved the other voice person who did more Kolchak books.

A man with a hat...

An entertaining introduction to Kolchak. Would like to read more. Narration not to my taste.

Horrid Narrator

The story itself is okay, but the narrator sounds like he's trying his hardest to sound like a text-to-voice computer program. He enunciates way too much (usually a good thing but he really does overdo it here) and his vocal rhythm is just...weird.

Dreadful not just the title

simply dreadful. none of the humor of the original books. the narration was awful. the narrator may be fine for a history book or something but not novels. he did nothing to save these. terrible books that were completely out of the line of Kolchak series
