About this listen

Without a doubt...

Ever "stumbled" in your faith? Wrestled with uncertainty? Wondered if you're a true believer? If the answer is yes to any of these questions - and it probably is - you have reason to celebrate. In this candid book based on his own struggle with doubt, John Ortberg traces the line between belief and unbelief and finds that it's less a dividing line between hostile camps than a razor's edge that runs through every soul. His findings point toward the relief of being totally honest. Doubt...questions...honest faith...outrageous hope... It's a chain reaction that can actually strengthen our relationship with God, and that, says Ortberg, is cause for celebration.

For 60 years, I have beat myself up for doubting my faith, believing that I was the only one on the planet with this problem. Oh, that Ortberg would have written this book in 1957 (when devastating doubt hit me) so that I could have lived a life embracing doubt so that I could enjoy my faith. I will now start my second read as this will be the writing that will continue to be transformational as it is already creating a foundation for hope and joy! Thank you, John.

Oh, that you would have written this 60 years ago!

I truly enjoy Ortberg's books and can relate to his unique storytelling approach. He is informative and entertaining at the same time, a rarity in non-fiction.

Great, as always!
