About this listen

Jacobia "Jake" Tiptree is deep in her latest home-improvement project when she notices the man repeatedly biking past her house. His face is unsettlingly familiar, but his chilling message seems inexplicable: Blood shows up again. Murder will out.

Back in her days as a hotshot financial manager she did business with plenty of shady characters, but she's still baffled as to the identity of her nemesis - until she receives a photo of a murdered man. Now Jake knows what she's up against. But knowing her enemy is no guarantee that she can escape the grim payoff he has in store for her.

Knock out

I love this series and this entry was no different. Jake Tiptree is an independent woman who refuses to play damsel in distress. Once again she faces her demons alone and comes out on top. The only thing I didn't like was that the local characters were not mentioned as much. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Knock out

This is a great series. I have read all of the books in the series and find that this is another solid addition. As always Lindsay Ellison does a great job portraying Jake and all of the other charactrers. If you are looking for a good cozy mystery this is it. Also try the other books in the series as well.

Great series and narrator!

I’ve been listening to this series non-stop. The stories are very engaging and the narrator does a fantastic job with the voices. My only issue is the author’s overuse of adverbs, particularly with words like “off-puttingly”, “gaggingly”, and “hair-triggerishly”. I was taught if you have to use adverbs then your verb isn’t strong enough. Otherwise, Sarah’s prose is exceptional!

A Real Nail Biter!

I can't remember when I have been so worried about a main character. It was totally engrossing and downright scary. Am curious how the author will follow this humdinger of a story.

Can skip this one

I’ve listen to 13 books and this one just never stuck with me. Didn’t like the story at all.

Light weight and enjoyable

This series is extremely light weight, but interesting and fun to listen to. I enjoyed the book very much, but it is not for anyone looking for a story with any meat to it.
