About this listen

Cam Derringer is Key West's wildest PI. While trying to find the men responsible for his wife's disappearance five years earlier, he unexpectantly stumbles across a much deadlier case.

It appears his wife was caught in the middle of a drug ring used to fund international terrorism. Cam is soon pulled into a world of uncertainty and deceit as he digs deeper into the underworld. Giving his heart to a woman once more, he soon realizes she has lied about everything from her name to her game.

Follow Cam through his worst nightmare before he decides to use his connections - both above and below the law - to uncover the truth behind the deadly plot.

"Time to get off."

Narrator Tom Taverna becomes the Key West P.I. fan Derringer, as he gets drawn into the search for a missing man, an insurance assessor, gone for three weeks. Dan's own wife vanished five years before and he's still trying to find out what happened to her. Then along comes this rather attractive woman who almost makes him forget his post love. But then more people in the little port start vanishing including his Cam's partner.

Written in the first person so that everything becomes immediate and personal, the text doesn't pull it's punches right up to the father predictable ending. But with interesting characters and full action plot, this story is recommended to those who enjoy the slow of waves on a boat as well as slaps on the protagonists.

Fast, furious and funny

Stupidity

I fought through this book just so I could write this review. Cam Derringer has to be the dumbest private investigator ever to appear in a book. This book is so stupid it almost makes it as a parody. But not really. Characters that were unbelievable and as dumb as Cam. Random characters introduced randomly. For example very near the end two suicide bombers stop for some coffee. A waitress is introduced as a character, 60 years old but attractive, and when she returns to their table they have left. She sees the newspaper left behind open to news of a the president visiting that afternoon. From this information she calls the local fbi to tell them two guys are going to kill the president. Really!!! The cherry on top is the narrator was awful. Beware their are 8 books in this series

writing was juvenile at best.

Maybe it's unfair to critique a book I didn't finish, but I couldn't take one more shallow conversation between people I found annoying.
