Story
God often uses the least likely people to accomplish his will, even working in spite of our human tendency to do what's right in our own eyes. In this verse-by-verse study through the book of Judges, Skip Heitzig explores a dark and difficult season in Israel's history, revealing not just the dangerous grasp of the sin cycle but also God's plan to appoint imperfect leaders to deliver his people. We discover that even when we're at our worst, God still makes a way to break our patterns of sin and lead us into redemption.

Story
There are giants in the land. They are not easy to recognize like the literal giants of the Old Testament, "tall as the cedars and strong as the oaks" (Amos 2:9, NIV), but they can be just as dangerous. And we must have the courage to destroy them. In this teaching series, Skip Heitzig explores literal and symbolic giants throughout the Bible and the heroes who slayed them. Daniel challenged the giant of conformity. Nehemiah obliterated the giant of apathy. Esther executed the giant of self. Courage starts where confidence ends.

In the series, Pastor Skip Heitzig looks at examples of several people in the Bible who understood what it is to worship God. These people realized that worship is not just singing, but a lifestyle. God created us to worship Him and certain qualities will be evident in your life if you are a true worshipper. As we study the lives of worshippers in Scripture, we can understand what true worship is - and use it as a template to follow in our own lives.

In this age of information overload and misinformation, it's difficult to know which sources to trust - especially in a crisis. Fact-checking is common as we try to prove and disprove reports and then decide what to believe. The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Great lessons from Joseph
I listened to this while attending a Precept Upon Precept Bible study with another group. This series added to the lessons in our study, and was very helpful. Pastor Skip is always great to listen to and learn from.
