Wonderful listen!

I spent quite sometime trying to decide which narrator to choose, listening to sample audio, etc... Amanda Root is perfect for it! She has an amazing accent that sweeps you into the story. It has been several years since I read Jane Eyre, I loved it even more this time than I did the first.

Amazing!

Not only is this story compelling, beautiful and an all time favorite of mine; but the narrator is incredibly talented and adds so much to this audio version of the beloved classic. I highly recommend this to all, not only the hardcore lover of classics!

I have totally enjoyed this edition of Jane Eyre

Would you listen to Jane Eyre [Naxos Edition] again? Why?

Yes! It was a story that kept me hooked.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jane, she was a kind and thoughtful person, she spoke the truth and did not like drama, she was very intelligent, she knew who she was, and knew what she wanted from life. Her strength I also admired.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Root’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes I believe both. I did find a few parts emotional and there was a chapter that made me angry.

Wonderful book and narrator

I’ve loved this book since I was a child and enjoy watching movies based on this novel. This audible did not disappoint. The narrator did a fantastic job and I know this will not be the last time I listen to this audible.

Beautifully Read

Still the best romance novel of all time. Bronte develops the attraction of Jane and Rochester flawlessly, body, soul and intellect.

Love it!

Amanda Root is the perfect narrator for Charlotte Bronze’s classic novel. It is a treat to listen to her expertly delivered performance.

Perfect Match between Classic Novel and Reader

If you could sum up Jane Eyre [Naxos Edition] in three words, what would they be?

Bronte + Root= Glory

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jane Eyre herself is always easy to sympathize with, but Amanda Root's rendering of Jane's first-person rendering of the glowering, stringent Rochester is really amazing. One can hear Rochester's pain clearly through all the layers.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Root’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amanda Root is a phenomenal screen actor, and her vocal performance here as the fiery, intelligent, resentful Jane is superb.
