INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

The first oral biography of John F. Kennedy Jr. is an extraordinarily intimate, comprehensive look at the real man behind the myth. Sharing never-before-told stories and insights, his closest friends, confidantes, lovers, classmates, teachers, and colleagues paint a vivid portrait of one of the most beloved figures of the 20th century, revealing how the boy who saluted became the man America came to know and love who still captures public imagination twenty-five years after his tragic death.

Born into the spotlight, John F. Kennedy Jr. lived a short but remarkable life filled with expectation, ambition, family pressures, love, and tragedy. JFK Jr. dives deep into his complicated psyche and explores the what-ifs, illuminating both the cultural and political moment he inhabited and the way this son of a president, so full of promise and possibility, embodied America’s most cherished hopes.

Various stories by several friends and relatives of JFK Jr. life.

Very interesting much more than John Jr. lots of friends and intimate stories from all sorts of people. And we don’t think we have a cast system in our wonderful country? Think again. Great book very different but well done. I did not think I would enjoy it but I could not put it down.

Best book I've ever read about JFK Jr

Having read virtually every book on this topic, I didn't have a lot of hope for a new one. in my mind I questioned if this was just some kind way to profit on the anniversary of his death. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the content of this book. So many quotes my friends and family who actually knew John and his story. Rosemarie hit it out of the park with this beautiful dedication to her friend and her boss. As far as books about the Kennedys go, this is definitely in the top tier. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it definitely made me wonder what could have been.

Inspirational figure

I started getting into John a couple of years ago. When he died, I was just a little boy in the 90s, so I didn’t understand watching the news much back then about his loss. As I’m now in my 30s, I feel a lot of similarities and struggles with Mr. Kennedy. So much so, he’s become my role model now in striving to better myself and be a good man.

I’ve also strived to write an alternate history story where he lives, and inspires all of us towards a better path. I don’t think he’s truly gone, so long as everyone keeps his spirit and humanity alive in their own hearts.

This book was a great tribute to a truly good man.

Great, but still sad💕

I loved this book. It does bring back all the sadness but it’s a beautifully written love story from friends & family!

An insightful listen

I was born the month before him and I knew of him from the moment a child begins to know of others outside their world. So to be allowed to listen to stories and insights of John from his closest friends is a gift. I wish all the more we had him in the world today. We need enlightened kindness, inclusion, unity, leadership. He gave that to his friends and they loving shared that with us.

Fascinating!

The book is like quilt where each patch is an intimate first-person account of someone’s experience living in John’s orbit…including people you would never expect (Mike Tyson?!). As someone who grew up in the N.Y. area, all I knew about the man came from NY Post headlines like “Hunk Flunks” the bar exam. I had no idea what a generous and complicated person he was. Some of the narrators made the accounts really come to life. I also have new perspectives on many of the Kennedy family members. Overall, an extremely compelling book.

Outstanding

I’m not even through with this book but the people who talk about him are so varied from every aspect of his life! Some from the oral histories at the JFK library some are just personal memories! It is extraordinary! They touch on aspects of his life that never have been talked about before. It shows that John became what he strove to be a good man!
