About this listen
A best friend. A forever love. A promise.
A betrayal. An ultimatum. A choice...
Carlie coped with moving from her home in Sydney, Australia to a small village in England to live with a stranger. She battled her way through the mists she thought would drown her, and emerged transformed. She was even starting to think she'd survive the death of her parents. But now an old diary, which promises to reveal the mystery of her mother, threatens to tear her world apart. How will the words she reads affect her? Will she wish the truth had died with her mum? And what is the connection to her own life hidden within the pages?
In the second book of the gripping Into the Mists Trilogy, a new relationship with her grandmother is opening Carlie's soul to the energy and power of the earth. A new friend is opening her mind to the magic and potential within her. And a new love is opening her heart to the sweetest enchantment of all. Yet betrayal hovers around her, and she will face an ultimatum, a sacrifice and a cruel choice that might just break her.
Will Carlie find the courage to go into the darkness of her own heart and seek the wisdom and strength she needs to survive, or will the tragedies and the pain of her life break her into a million little pieces?

An enchanting story told beautifully.
Be swept away by the melodic voice and magical story. Into the Dark leads you on an enchanting journey as Carlie experiences her first real love, the struggles of keeping balance in her life and the depths of fates cruelty. Again, you will gain knowledge of how to perform rutuals in your own life by following Carlie's direction is parts of the story. My favorite parts of this book were when Carlie was reading her mother's journal, what her mother experienced was written beautifully, her struggles and pain captivated both the MC and reader, a feat not easy to achieve. I Cannot wait to jump into book three.

Serene paints a beautiful picture of the struggles and rewards through the teenage years
Into the Dark is the second instalment of the Into the Mists series. Carlie continues her journey of love and friendship, building relationships, learning to trust and growing into a relatable lovable character. Discovering about the past and dreaming of the future, there are so many twists and turns in this magical adventure, some touching moments and some heart wrenching ones too. The author and narrator both do a beautiful job of making this story come alive.

Not my typical read, but well-written
This story is so much darker than I expected. It's definitely not the style I typically read, but I actually wanted to finish it to find out how everything turns out. It is really well-written and captivating despite being so different from my preferred genre.

Dark Secrets Start Unfolding!
Into the Dark by Serene Conneeley is the 2nd book in this trilogy. A story of survival and overcoming loss and grief, this second installment starts getting darker as Carlie uncovers the secrets to her mothers past. I love the storyline and am looking forward to seeing how Carlie's story unfolds. The audio is well done and enjoyable to listen to.

Dark and intriguing.
The second installment of Into The Mists Trilogy begins about two months after the first book. For me just as the first book this one was very dark for me. Carlie has her mothers diary and it is filled with dark and sad stories. At least that’s how I felt. Other readers may feel different. In a way her mothers journal was in a peculiar way reflecting as to Carlie’s current love status as well. The book for me ended in a shocking revelation and I’m looking forward to reading the last book.
The narrator, Gabrielle did a fabulous job portraying all the characters.

Very Good Second Book
The narrator Gabrielle Baker is very good at her craft and easy to understand. Book two, 'Into The Dark' by Serene Conneeley is where the story really takes off. Book one, Into The Mist, spent a lot of time on Carlie's anger and grief. With 'Into The Dark' she is finally accepting of her grandmother Rose with the help of a new friend Rhianna. She starts to fit in and spend time at her grandmother's healing and crystal center. Carlie opens up to nature rituals, and the esoteric. In this book we see Carlie start to discover her new life and her grandmother Rose. This is a good book to see the continuations of Carlie's healing and the power of coming out of her grief. More esoteric and mystical happenings appear around Carlie and in her dreams and a stronger connection with her friend Rhianna begins. But can all of this go sideways, we will have to see how Carlie handles difficulties in book three. A good book for teen or adult readers.
