Anthony DeStefano
About this listen
From USA Today best-selling author Anthony DeStefano, an entertaining retort to atheism and its proponents, revealing the intellectual bankruptcy at atheism's core and equipping Christians to respond to its hollow arguments.
A witty and devastating takedown of the "new" atheist position, Inside the Atheist Mind debunks the theories of Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, and others, revealing how inconsistent, illogical, and frankly ludicrous their conclusions truly are. Poking fun at atheists in a clever and intelligent way, Anthony DeStefano demonstrates just how full of holes the new atheism is and reveals that it is actually a "religion" of its own, complete with a creed, a set of commandments, a rigid moral code, and rewards and punishments. More than that, DeStefano exposes that atheism is itself a "superstition" of the worst kind.
Using irony and a healthy dose of playful sarcasm, Inside the Atheist Mind lampoons, teases, and deflates the atheist position, unmasking it for what it is - an empty, intellectually barren philosophy, devoid of any logic and common sense.

Everybody has one. It's called a "haunt detector". It's the little alarm that goes off in our heads whenever we detect that something mysterious or supernatural has occurred. You could be sitting around relaxing, and for no special reason you start thinking about someone. Then the phone rings; you pick it up, and amazingly, it's that person! Story
Critics outside the church often accuse the Old Testament God of genocide, racism, ethnic cleansing, and violence. But a rising tide of critics within the church claim that Moses and other "primitive," violence-prone prophets were mistaken about God's commands and character. Both sets of critics dismiss this allegedly harsh, flawed, "textual" Old Testament God in favor of the kind, compassionate, "actual" God revealed by Jesus. Are they right to do so?

Story
Militant atheism is on the rise. In recent years, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens have produced a steady stream of best-selling books denigrating religious belief. These authors are merely the leading edge of a larger movement that includes much of the scientific community. In response, mathematician David Berlinski, himself a secular Jew, delivers a biting defense of religious thought.

Here is an impassioned plea for reason in a world divided by faith. This important and timely work delivers a startling analysis of the clash of faith and reason in today's world. Harris offers a vivid historical tour of mankind's willingness to suspend reason in favor of religious beliefs, even when those beliefs are used to justify harmful behavior and sometimes heinous crimes.

"Forty-four percent of the American population is convinced that Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead sometime in the next 50 years," writes Sam Harris. "Imagine the consequences if any significant component of the U.S. government actually believed that the world was about to end and that its ending would be glorious. The fact that nearly half of the American population apparently believes this...should be considered a moral and intellectual emergency."

In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Whether taken as a book of faith or a cultural artifact, the New Testament is among the most significant writings the world has ever known, its web of meaning relied upon by virtually every major writer in the last 2,000 years. Yet the New Testament is not only one of Western civilization’s most believed books, but also one of its most widely disputed, often maligned, and least clearly understood, with a vast number of people unaware of how it was written and transmitted.

if your an atheist your going to hate this book.
Outstanding, I love when the author themself read their own book. It puts their personal emphasis and true emotional voice while reading - telling their story, If you are an atheist, a true atheist you are going to hate this book but read it anyway. If you are a Christian read this book to gain knowledge and wisdom along with understanding how the atheist world works and values well they don't value , But how they see thing's through their atheist mine. We christians are in a battle of the dark world. This book is a wonderful apologetics style book. Read or listen To help you understand how we must defend our faith to those that either just don't understand, turn a blind eye or are truly evil. Again very well written I highly recommend This book!

A reversed hitch clap (what goes around comes around)
This book was a deep insight into the rage of atheism. I always walked around as a Christian with the idea that I have to rationalize god or else it is silly to believe in him. This deep frustration has been lifted from my shoulders as I listened to this book bringing the darkness to the light. It is uncensored brutal honesty towards those who mock the religious. Don’t think that you will as much empowerment in your atheism once you finish the book even though it doesn’t disprove it or proves Christianity.

A Refreshing and Unapologetic Look at Atheism
I've read a number of books on Religion, Spirituality and Atheism, but this is a truly unique one. The author is honest in his introductory note: this not an attempt to prove the existence of God - there are other books for that. This is a comprehensive analysis of the New Atheists. It is brutally precise in citing historical facts and figures to explain their emptiness. The author is as direct as possible, showing the weaknesses of the position.
This edition as read by the author, and he does so perfectly. It is a smooth read. I have already recommended it.
