About this listen

Biker and tattoo artist Cade Winters isn't much for weddings or other sappy celebrations. He prefers dive bars, his beloved bike, and fighting at underground clubs; the last of which lands him in the hospital after a sore loser attacks Cade in an alley. However, when his best friend Tommy asked Cade to be his best man, Cade didn't hesitate. Growing up without a family to call his own, Cade would do anything, even attend a wedding, for those he now considers his family. Uncharacteristically dressed up, his tattoos barely covered and shaggy beard neatly groomed, Cade meets Cindy; the maid of honor at Tommy's wedding.

Cindy is the opposite of anything Cade has ever looked for in a woman, yet he finds himself falling helplessly in love with her. Determined to make Cindy his, Cade must not only win her over but also her controlling and disapproving parents, who will stop at nothing to convince their daughter that a shaggy tattoo artist is not the one for her.

Inked Passions

I really liked Inked Passions. The story is believable and I found myself really rooting for the characters by the end of the book. Plenty of action, twists, and turns throughout.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review from the author/publisher/narrator.

Good read. Horrible listen

No real distinction between the characters of the same sex. No real inflection. I would read this again, but not listen too. Also had technical issues with the recording. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

I have mixed feelings about this one.

I've been thinking about this review for a while because I'm not really sure how to rate this book.
I really didn't like the narration, the emotion in the story didn't come through, it was just a flat delivery and this made it hard to listen too. The character voices for Cade and Cindy were good but some of the others were not.

The story left me with mixed feelings, at times I was enthralled and at others I wanted to stop listening. A lot happened, perhaps too much, there are several key story lines and perhaps this was to much for the length of the book. At times I felt like I was being read a list, but I'm unsure how much of that feeling was the story and how much was the narration.

Overall it was enjoyable, just listen to the sample before you buy to check how you feel about the narration.

This book was supplied free by the author/narrator/publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Good story, okay performance

The premise of the story itself was okay, tattoo'd, underground bad boy falls for the good girl...however the narrator fell flat to me. I didn't feel there was emotion behind the readings and throughout the story it felt monotone without any highs and lows. I kept wanting for more and it wasn't there.

a bad boy romance.

Meh, this story was OK. it seemed a little rushed to me. the story line was ok, but some of it seemed a little impractical. Example somebody goes missing and no body is found, but The cops want an alibi for the night before from someone. it just didn't make sense to me. Also I wish it went into more detail about things. But the sex scenes were good :)

the Narrator did a good job. there were a few characters I thought sounded kind funny. But they will not main characters. The other character she did well.

Bad boy meets good girl

This was a quick listen with a good story line and character development, the narrator was not great, but passable. Her male voices seemed a bit monosyllabic and sounded like she was reading from a script at times... where as her female voices were fine and well spaced and acted. Male voice acting aside, I enjoyed this book and it left me wanting more in this world to be written.

Once in a lifetime

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would of made this book longer. I feel the story jumped around to much and focused on some things more than others. It was a bit confusing at times to keep up with the time frame in which things were happening

Would you be willing to try another book from Amber Burns? Why or why not?

I am hesitant to as I feel the story was undeveloped.

Would you be willing to try another one of Meghan Kelly’s performances?

I would

Cade and Cindy!

Opposite sides of the track romances are always intriguing. Amber Burns writes a story of Cade, a tattoo parlor owner who falls hard for Cindy. Where does he meet her? She is a nurse in the hospital and after an altercation resulting in a stab wound, she takes care of him. The attraction is immediate, and with a mutual friend's wedding coming up, they have the chance to see each other. But will their differences be too much for Cade to win her over? At first I thought this book was just going to be your everyday romance, but there are some very emotional scenes that made me love it. I fell for Cade with his protectiveness and love not only for Cindy, but as we lived through is grief. Cindy's parents made for some great frustration, and added real depth to the story, and the surprises at the end just made my heart sing.

Narrated by the talented Meghan Kelly, I knew I was going to enjoy the story. She brings her books to life with her voice. I loved her performance as always.
