About this listen

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken proves that everyone scores to win. But off the field, a fumble can change the entire game.

Pro footballer Miller Quinton would do anything for his best friend and teammate - including "fake dating" his friend's sister. What no one knows is that seven months ago in Vegas, Miller and Kinsey did a whole lot more than just kiss. Miller knows that this cheerleader is off-limits to him and any guy on the team. Still, he can't stop himself.

Kinsey's whole world is on the verge of crumbling. Her dad has cancer. Her overprotective brother is falling apart. Dating Miller may be a fake-out, but he's the one guy who can make her forget about everything - including all the reasons she stayed away from football players. With each heated moment, Miller feels more like a safe place...even though he's not safe at all.

Now temptation is testing every rule in the game of love. But how long can they go on playing when winning is a harder goal than either of them imagined?

Beautiful

This book keep my attention captive; I couldn’t put the book down. The story touched so many topics, it was full and handled difficult topics very well.

Simply Perfect!

Rachel Van Dyken is so freakin’ amazing! I love all her book and how they can pull out all the emotions. Her characters are relatable and you just get drawn into the story. This book was no exception. As the second in the series, it focused on Miller moving on from Emerson and his relationship with Kenzie and her brother Jax. Of course there was plenty of Jax and Harley thrown in too (Yay, Sebastian York!!!), as well as the always sarcastic and hilarious Sanchez.
There was emotional upheaval, fights, love, laughter and heartbreak. (Yep, I cried listening to this book too.)
This trio of narrators kicked a**! Jeremey and Carly were fantastic on their own, but then you put Sebastian and his sexy deep voice in the mix, and how can you not just love it?!?! All three of them just did a wonderful job. I’ll definitely be listening to this one again and again!

BONUS!

This is a two for one! I can’t get enough when an author throws in an extra side love story.
Miller is having a bit of a hard time figuring out what his love life is going to look like now. Kinsey kind of inserts herself as his honorary best friend and things become heated. ;)

Kinsey’s brother is very protective and is also Miller's teammate and best friend of sorts. So even if he wanted to go there Jax wouldn’t even consider it only things take a turn when Jax is the one to suggest to Miller the most outrageous thing of all…. To pretend to be Kinsey’s boyfriend…. Oh dear right, you would think this book was going to be filled with dramalama but nope you would be wrong it was just the right amount of angst and drama. I loved it.

I wasn’t expecting to get emotional in this book at all and yet I found myself in tears. It sneaks up on you in a way that is organic and I won’t soon forget this book that is for sure.

I am not going to spoil the side story for ya, just let you figure that one out. ;)

The narration again I am in love with these narrators, they brought all the emotions and inflection into their characters I couldn’t, wouldn’t stop listening.

Better than the first

This book may have been even better than the first book in the series. I love the connection Kinsey has with her big brother and the friendship between all of the players. There were several times when this story had me close to tears so it must have been good!

A-freaking-mazing!

I would give this book 10 stars if I could. The story was fantastic , but Rachel Van Dyken is an amazingly fabulous author, so I was expecting a fantastic story. I loved the characters! Ms. Van Dyken writes her characters so well, and makes you get to know them so well, that you want to be their best friend.
I love the humor in all of Ms. Can Dyken’s books and this book was no exception.
The narrators were fabulous! They really made the story come alive. The only thing that could have made the narration better is if they read together so they didn’t have to do different voices for the main characters. But, even without them reading together, they are awesome. No monotone reading. The narrators seriously nailed the character they were performing.
Anyway, if you love humor, fabulous characters and a great story line, try this. You won’t be disappointed!

This one was so full of good stuff. Miller lost his love and best friend when he moved away in high school and when he was traded to the Bucks found out she was a cheerleader for the team. That was the first book and they resolved their issues but she ended up with his teammate (good call there) and they resumed their friendship. After the playoff win they all ended up in Vegas and Kinsey was sharing his room and sleeping on the couch but ended up in his bed...oh-la-la...don't let Jax know! Returning home Jax wants to send her away for the summer and Miller agrees (stupid man!). When she comes home she learns her old boyfriend in on the team and Jax pushes Miller on her as her fake boyfriend. Oh, this was fun. Add in their father dying and all the stress but this was all done with the author's humor. I found myself laughing through this even with all the emotional issues. Definitely read these in order but make sure to read them. Highly recommend!

Wow, now that was a good story

I really didn't like book 1 but this was a great story. All of the issues I had with the first book were strengths in book 2. Strong, likable characters and a story with a lot of depth.
