Publisher's summary
In this epic conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Infinity Cycle, two brothers find themselves in a heartbreaking war against one another.
After the ultimate betrayal, Emil must rise up as a leader to stop his brother before he becomes too powerful. Even if that means pushing away Ness and Wyatt as they compete for his heart so he can focus on the war.
Brighton has a legion of followers at his command, but when he learns about an ancient scythe that can kill the unkillable, that’s all he will need to become unstoppable against Emil and other rising threats.
Meanwhile, Maribelle aligns with her greatest enemy to resurrect her lost love, and Ness infiltrates political circles to stop Iron from ruling the country, but both missions lead to tragedies that will change everyone’s lives forever.
As the Infinity Son and the Infinity Reaper go to war, who will be crowned the Infinity King?

Story
It’s been a year since eighteen-year-old River Lang’s best friend died in a car accident. And every day since, he’s had to pass by the depressing billboard that appeared as a result: a texting and driving PSA that reduces Dylan to a cautionary tale and River to the best friend of the dead kid at school. Dylan was so much more than a statistic, though, and River hates that everyone in town seems to have forgotten. When he’s caught improving (a.k.a. vandalizing) Dylan’s billboard, River is blackmailed into joining the Affinity Trials.

Nigel Barrett has spent his whole life preparing for the Culling, a spell-casting competition that determines which of the world’s teenage magicians will be stripped of their powers to preserve magical balance. I never thought I’d find love. I spent all of high school watching others pair up, my little gay heart slowly withering in despair… until the fateful summer night that I met Tim. His meaty muscles and smoldering silver eyes already haunt my dreams. And I know for a fact that he’s lonely like me. I’ve been taking care of Tim ever since he got into an accident that was technically my fault, but the healing he needs goes so much deeper than that. I need him too. With any luck, I’ll end senior year with the man of my dreams at my side.

Once the golden boy of the English literary scene, now a clinically depressed writer of pulp crime fiction, Ash Winters has given up on hope, happiness, and—most of all—himself. He lives his life between the cycles of his illness, haunted by the ghosts of other people’s expectations. Then a chance encounter throws him into the path of Essex-born Darian Taylor. By his own admission, Darian isn’t the crispest lettuce in the fridge, but he makes Ash laugh, reminding him of what it’s like to step beyond the boundaries of anxiety.

I Feel Reborn
I’m very glad I found this series and Adam Silvera’s writing in general. This book was an absolute roller coaster. Multiple sections had me furious, crying, or ecstatic. I’m very glad he wrote this book the way he did. Putting breaks between certain chapters kept my emotions in check throughout the book. It may be cliche, but I genuinely feel like a different person after this series. I feel reborn.
Though I will say, with this voice over, one section was spoiled quickly because the character’s voice for their section was very distinct.

Absolutely epic series.
My only, and basically irrelevant, complaint....
spoiler
is that Brighton didn't get eviscerated in the end. I've never hated a character so much 😂 but overall, the ending was still satisfying. Now I'm sad it's over. Props to all of the audiobook narrators, I've listened to several in other series' and have loved them there, including Brighton's narrator, who did such an incredible job at making his absolutely obnoxious and pretentious personality show.

I think this was a really well done finale for the series. I really enjoyed the story and the voice acting. The significant differences between Emil and Brighton was always so well done.
