About this listen

Exclusive to Audible, Daniel Davis brings David Martorano's critically acclaimed debut, Immortality: Epocalypse, to life for listeners.

After a cataclysm, survivors in the Southwest have split into factions. Babylon thrives under the protection of two powerful Artificial Intelligences. Immortalization is within reach of a chosen few, but the cost of eternal life is far greater than anyone could have imagined.

Outside the colony's walls, the New Amish, led by Jeb Thompson—the very man who unleashed the supercomputer MARTIN on the—reject all technology. Jeb is determined to rid the world of the abomination of Immortalization and guide the wayward Nons to God's light.

Immortality is a gripping and thought-provoking epic that delves into humanity's struggle to define its future in the face of synthetic eternal life. Set in a near-future world where technological advancements challenge spiritual integrity, the novel explores the complex and enigmatic nature of consciousness, the consequences of transhumanism, and the battle to redefine immortality, divinity, and humanity.

At its core, Immortality is an exploration of man's perception of himself, his beliefs about life beyond mortality, and the consequences of overreaching ambition. It is a cautionary tale that warns of the dangers when humanity's capabilities outstrip its wisdom, echoing the perils of Oppenheimer's Manhattan Project or a toddler wielding a loaded gun.

Immortality: Epocalypse is a compelling and credible vision of a future shaped by transhumanism. Journey through existential dilemmas, moral conflicts, and the ultimate question: what does it mean to be truly human?

Captivating from beginning to end

Daniel Davis’s voice pulled me in to Martorano’s expertly woven narrative. At times, I was lost in world that seems far too close to the one we may be building. It’s a long audiobook, but I finished it in two days. Stayed up late because I had to know what happened. Highly recommend! I am already listening to it again…
