Publisher's summary
A ghostwriting gig in the Hamptons becomes far more than a job as Zara and Jane repeatedly rewrite their own relationship in this sexy, atmospheric, and deliciously tense story.
Aspiring author Zara Pines, who is reeling from the death of her father, accepts a job ghostwriting Jane Bailey’s memoir. Jane is the star of the hit cooking TV show 30 Bucks Tops and an iconic fan favorite. Zara is unimpressed by Jane’s celebrity status and annoyed that she has to spend the summer living in her East Hampton home.
As the two women create Jane’s book, an attachment grows stronger. Soon they’re working out together and wearing the same clothes. They become so close that the line between them starts to blur. Then, an unforeseen incident forces Zara and Jane to ask themselves how much they really know about each other.
This dark and twisty novel about fame, lies, and obsession will make even the most open-hearted listener question how safe it is to trust the people they love.

But when Jamie does learn about Anna’s misconduct, she embarks on a bicoastal journey to expose the crimes and make a name for herself as a journalist. It’s not long before Anna learns what the reporter is up to, however—and she’ll do anything to stop Jamie. Especially now that BrightLife’s IPO is days away.

The four Jacobson children were raised to respect the value of a dollar. Their mother reused tea bags and refused to pay retail; their father taught them to budget before he taught them to ride a bike. Story
Pippa Jones is a fortyish former literary sensation who fears she will be a one-hit wonder. After the follow-up book she was almost done writing, Podlusters, had to be tossed (it ended up sharing a plot and title with superstar author Ella Rankin’s summer blockbuster!), she couldn’t write a thing. Months of staring at a blank page made her confidence vanish like a one-night stand. When she finds out that she has only five days left to finish (or rather, start) or repay an advance she’s already spent, Pippa has a brilliantly original idea.

Ali Morris is a professional organizer whose own life is a mess. Her mom died two years ago, then her husband left, and she hasn’t worn pants with a zipper in longer than she cares to remember. No one is more surprised than Ali when the first time she takes off her wedding ring and puts on pants with hardware—overalls count, right?—she meets someone. Or rather, her dog claims a man for her, in the same way he claimed his favorite of her three children: by peeing on him. Ethan smiles at Ali like her pants are just right—like he likes what he sees.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Pearce Oysters, a lush, evocative, finely drawn debut novel set on the Louisiana coastline during the historic 2010 oil spill, follows the Pearce family, local oyster farmers whose business, family, and livelihood are all on the brink of collapse. Macro factors beyond their control are slaying them. Olivia Strauss is turning thirty-nine. No major milestone. She still considers herself young. At least young enough to assume she has decades (emphasis on the plural) to check the unchecked boxes of her life’s to-do list. Ballerina? Too late. But not too late for poet. Or for reigniting the romantic spark in her marriage, spending more quality time with her son, switching careers, learning to cook, or even dyeing her hair a bright bohemian pink. She’ll get to that one. There’s time—until Olivia’s best friend, Marian, gives her a birthday present she could have lived without.

Unique and smart page turner
This should be required reading for anyone with a tendency toward codependent relationships! I thought this was a fresh take on the thriller genre with thought provoking depth and snarky humor too, which I love. The ending really surprised me. I keep thinking about it. The narration was also great - I’m really particular. Loved.

Entertaining if prdictable
Having enjoyed The Goddesses by this author, I did find this to have some similarities, but still liked the book enough to recommend it. It did seem that the finale was rushed, as if the author had a deadline to meet ? Excellent narration,

Frustratingly yelling at the FMC vibes.
I was just really frustrated with Zara the whole time. I'm a woman who has always known who l am and what I want, so it was annoying to see Zara just morph herself (literally) into something anyone could love, and then not see any warning signs. Very naive and willing to believe anything just to be loved.
