Decent story somewhat predictable

The book held my interest even though the story is somewhat mundane
The characters were rather bland
Didn't become very invested in their narrative
The narrator herself was decent, but , sounded like she was merely reciting the story
I like narration with a bit more drama

Hush

Would you consider the audio edition of Hush to be better than the print version?

I don't think it would matter either way.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hush?

When they found DNA of his mom's in the spaghetti jars.

Which character – as performed by Emily Beresford – was your favorite?

Max, gruff on the outside, puppy dog on the inside!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, reminded me of other horror stories, I've read.

Any additional comments?

Yeah, to the narrator. Brush up on the way you introduce your characters, they all sound the same!

Good characters

I listened to Anne’s Jude Fontain series first and loved them so I was eager to listen to this book. But was very dismayed to hear the graphic sex and cursing. It wasn’t necessary. Her Jude Fontain books din’t have it and they are stellar. I may not finish this series. Very disappointing.

Good book but

The book is good it drags on a bit and the way the story seemed to be flowing left the ending feeling very unfinished. The Body Reader series is much better. I'm not sure if this was her first novel but it left a lot to be desired, but makes up for in the Jude series. So she has promise of being a great series writer.

My least favorite Anne Frasier book

I lost interest in some parts of the book then it would pick back up. I think some of it was the narrator. The book was not great but it was good.

Compelling and deliciously creepy

I've been a regular reader of Anne Frasier's thrillers for as long as she's been writing them. What a happy surprise to see that Hush has made its way to audio!

Narrator Emily Beresford convincingly brings Frasier's characters to life with distinct voices for all. It's a tautly written serial killer police procedural, an intelligent and meaty story. Frasier's hero and heroine are refreshingly human; a welcome change from the stick figure kickass heroine and waxed-torso-of-steel hero so prevalent in recent romantic suspense.

I'd love to see more of Frasier's suspense brought to audio. Ditto her romances written as Theresa Weir.

Crazy good listen

Great story line and kept me listening way longer than planned. I couldn't stop listening once I started. I don't want to give anything away but just listen to it. It's very captivating.

Pretty thin stuff

This one just didn't work for me. Humorless and melodramatic, predictable all the way through, made me feel like I'd already read this same book 100 times before. Not helped at all by the reader who seemed to be narrating a cartoon. Male voices were especially cringe-worthy. I see others have enjoyed it, but this was not my cuppa tea.

Shockingly Creepy Killer

This was a police procedural serial killer psychological thriller.
Ivy Dunlap is a victim turned PhD psychology expert who has tried for 16 years to get over the most horrific thing a person can experience.
Serial killer begins striking again, she returns to her old hometown to assist Max Irving, a police detective hunt down maniac.
I enjoyed the story. It was good. There were a few sections when it did drag, but the last few chapters were amped up and went quickly.
The narrator was excellent.
