Publisher's summary

Celebrating the 75 anniversary of the original landmark bestseller How to Win Friends and Influence People, comes an up-to-the-minute adaptation of Carnegie’s timeless prescriptions for the digital age.

Dale Carnegie’s principles have endured for nearly a century. Since its original publication in 1936, his timeless classic How to Win Friends and Influence People has gone on to sell 15 million copies. Now, introducing new listeners to Carnegie’s words of wisdom, comes How to Win Friends and Influence People in the Digital Age, a new guide for a new era.

Dale Carnegie could never have predicted the trajectory that new media would take, and the ways that the simple television screen would be adapted into computers and handheld communication devices. He didn’t know the term “social media” and Facebook was something not even dreamed of in Buck Rogers cartoons. And yet his lessons remain relevant for everyone who communicates online today. In fact, with problems such as cyber bullying and email etiquette, we need Carnegie’s help more than ever. Dale Carnegie and Associates, Inc. has re-imagined Carnegie’s lasting lessons for this difficult digital age, reframing Carnegie’s insights about communication, self-expression, and leadership. This book is a must-have guide for anyone who wants to find success on Facebook, Linked-In, Twitter, and any social media format today and in the future.

Timeless but obvious lessons

Communication is important in any area of life and it is a good listen but if you read the orginal version no need to get this one. Some tings are too obvious even though they are timeless.

Common sense but good if you're normally a jerk.

I've worked retail for 8 years so most of this was common sense to me but I could see how it would be helpful if you suck at talking to people or have the general personality of a robot. The problem is if you don't mean what you're saying, some of this could come across as insincere and fake so it could backfire. Wish it went into more conflict resolution rather than just saying don't criticize, complain, or condemn. Give me an alternative then on how to fix the issue without just glossing over what went wrong!

One of the greatest influencers of all times

Very few books have profound influence on an individual than this book. This books gives such a great description on the right way to deal with people and circumstances that you will stop getting angry, irritated and scream from the back of your throat to get your message through. I highly encourage this book to people who think shouting is the only way to communicate

Never judge a book by its cover

I've found many people put off by the title, however this is the ultimate book in practical advice in being a friend. Yes, there's a business benefit to good relationships, but this book takes it to a higher level to show that this is just a good way to live. Must read, especially in the modern culture of social media.

VERY INERESTING

This book has helped me a lot. There are some negative patters that are instilled in me, this book planted them square in my face and little by little I am working on changing them. To be honest, it can be seen as a way to manipulate people into getting what you want, I would advise that you use what you have learnt, not just for you, but to better your relations with others. Use your influence to have a greater effect on people, don't do stuff for others only because you will benefit from it, but because you can help better someone also.
