Very Helpful

Throughout the phases, the delivery and pace is remarkable. Some of the most important things I learned is that when it comes to talking to anyone, ‘keep things light, upbeat and positive’ that really gave me the comprehension to improve my way of talking to Anyone but in the later phase he also discussed how to do it effectively. I will highly recommend this book.

Where was this book 20 years ago?

I needed a book like this years ago. Especially when I started working at 16, it was a lot of trial and error trying to navigate a conversation when you are customer-facing. At that time, my idea of a conversation was a greeting and Goodbye.

To this day, I still scare people when I make eye contact. So that is something that I have to work on. I found that I tend to think a lot more than I should when I am having a serious conversation, and because of this, people think I am mentally picking them apart, making a valid point that the author includes about limiting eye contact. However, over the years, my conversation skills have become more relaxed, especially concerning my body language. When I am not having a serious conversation, I tend to do what the author mentions and say the first thing that comes to mind, mainly because I like being just as shocked as everyone else since I do not really think about it first.

The tips in this audiobook can help anyone with awful or awkward social skills, giving valuable information for conversation starters, maintaining a solid conversation, keeping the other person's interest, and reading their reactions to switch topics, just to name a few. Everything is practical and easy to implement too.

Questions are so helpful

Wow. I learned so much from this book. This book talked about things I had totally never even thought of. It teaches the question types that foster effortless friendships. Whoa, I had never thought that questions could make such a big difference in my conversations (or rather... attempts at conversations). He talked about three distinct types of questions to ask, which makes the process of getting to know others so much easier.
