Science affirming, soul refreshing

Splendidly Human!

I selected this work to help me better understand “mindfulness” and found myself pleasantly excited each time I resumed the Audible. The author demystified and connected this subject to the real world for me and added that piece of humanity to it that I had been missing. At first I was a bit skeptical of the presentation but soon grew to appreciate Tim Desmond’s oratory skills as perhaps only the author could have performed it. Anyone interested in making their lives and the world a better place will surely benefit and enjoy this work. Gratifying!

MUST READ!

Desmond keeps it simple and does not over-explain things. I laughed, I cried-love it!! Definitely opened my eyes to when and where I needed to be mindful.

how timely

I struggle with the people in this world- those I thought I knew (or as Tim says- my ideas and perceptions of them. my pain when realizing that everything I learned in Kindergarten was forgotten by those sitting in the same classroom. thank you for the practice ideas - I'll continue to work with my despair. great read!

Really good listen

I'd recommend this to folks hoping to make some changes big or small. I have thoroughly enjoyed it twice now to go through some of the exercises.

a benefit to all

This is truly a phenomenal book. he could be used as an introduction to mindfulness, but it's so much more. the practices Tim Desmond covers, are not what I would necessarily consider a beginner's guide. However, Desmond does such a wonderful job of providing practical steps with engaging examples and heartfelt anecdotal experiences did I believe anyone and everyone no matter their familiarity with mindfulness compassion meditation or anything else that he covers will be able to start their own practice and have many takeaways from this book that will greatly benefit their life and the lives of those around them.

Out view on life has changed

I am in an in between place where I cant figure out if I'm mindlessly wandering or going through the motions of life. Tim's techniques were referred to me by my husband and I'm grateful I gave it a chance. life's stressors are harmful and I am leading down the path of a destructive life. I will take what I learned today and help myself change all that. one step at a time.
