Good help for social phobia

Interacting with family and a few close friends is very easy. But meeting new people, talking in a group, or speaking in public can cause extreme shyness to kick in. My social phobia makes me extremely shy and self-conscious. This book aids in identifying and mastering making friends and interacting with strangers. The chapter on how to form lifelong friendships is very good.

So helpful

I got this book because once I got out of the Army we moved to another city where I didn't know anyone and had to start a new job and get settled in a new town. It was like waking up one day and realizing you don't have any really close friends. I still call a few of the close ones but I never get to see them now. I wanted to change that. So, enter this book. My biggest fear to overcome was opening up to people, and finding the right ones to open up to. Being in the Army for so long I was also adjusting to being in a "civilian" world, the topics of conversation are totally different. the author addresses ways to be more comfortable with yourself and the things you need to do to make friends. The narrator was pleasant f to listen to, and the story is laid out in a logical way to take you to where you want to go and what you need to learn. So far the strategies in this book have been helpful to me. I have reached out to a few people and started to lay the groundwork for making some new friends in this new environment. I know I'm the one that has to make the effort to change, and this book is very helpful in helping me get there. I would recommend this to anyone seeking to find a way to make new friends.

This book will help so many people!

This book gives you great ideas for ways to improve your relationships. It's also very compassionate, and won't make you judge yourself for mistakes you've made in the past. It takes some courage to even download a book like this, and the author keeps you safe and supports you through the process. Great book. Excellent narrator, too.

Better in Audible

I read this as an ebook, and as good as it was, it’s so much better as an audiobook. The topic is interesting, the advice is heartfelt, and the narrator carries you along with the story. I truly liked this book. Lots of good advice.

Very Insightful!!!!

Social Life is part of life, and good for mental health!!!

This book is very helpful for those with children that may be a little introverted and shy around new people. Also for those suffering from past hurts and disappointment with friends and or family. Maybe enough time has passed and new friendships are safe to form!!! Either way, a healthy social life is very worth the effort. My favorite part of this book is the 80/20 rule, you can't go wrong when you make time with friends on a regular basis and have a healthy work life balance. To be honest that’s my biggest flaw in my friendships. I haven't the best balance as of yet, and now that I am more aware I can plan to do something about it!!! I highly recommend this book for everyone, it's a good listen, and the narrator speaks eloquently throughout!! Very nice job.

Confidence comes from within!

Having the confidence to put yourself out there is a common problem amongst many people. The more we fail, the more we view ourselves as hopeless, which adds to the lack of confidence. This book does a great job covering all the elements of meeting new people and some great techniques you can apply to become confident and outgoing with ease. Worth the listen!

Very interesting subject. Great narration.

I really enjoyed this audiobook.
It’s a very easy listen. The beginning 30-50 pages was fairly common knowledge,
but once you get through that then there are some truly excellent tips, hacks, and examples.
Both parents and children can cultivate new skills in developing friendships and business relationships.
It’s a good starting point for parents to help their kids or themselves.
It will help you find your inner voice and engage with the world with confidence.
I heartily recommend this audiobook.
