About this listen

Last of Us meets The Walking Dead in this post apocalyptic story. Perfect for fans of The Cascadia Series, and Until The End Of The World by Sarah Lyons Fleming.

A deadly infection. Seven Strangers. The fight for survival begins...

Jake didn't think his night could get worse, but that was before his train stops deep underground and zombies attack and things go from worst-day-ever to run-for-your-life terror.

Liv is good at running, mostly from other people straight into a bottle of vodka. But as chaos erupts on the city streets, depending on others may be her only chance at survival.

London is gone. The world has ended. In the chaos that remains, seven strangers fight to escape the city. But as they navigate this new and dangerous world, they soon discover that surviving the apocalypse means confronting their deepest fears and making impossible choices.

How We End is a heart-pounding diverse story with a character driven plot that explores how societal collapse forces ordinary people into extreme situations and reveals the lengths they'll go to survive in a world gone mad. Will they make it out alive, or will they become just another casualty?

"The How We Survive series is zombies with a cool twist and real characters you root for. LM Juniper shoves you into the action while also tugging on your heartstrings." - Sarah Lyons Fleming, Author of Until The End of The World Series

Solid debut and welcome entry

LM Juniper’s debut novel is a welcome entry to the post apocalyptic genre. Solid storytelling with great characters, looking forward to the next entry.

Grabbed my attention

This was a very interesting take on the source of the disease that was creating zombies. In fact the nature of the disease was quite unique. I was intrigued by some of the characters and really liked the American couple. The male narrator was excellent. The female narrator was good, but not as good as the male. I love the big dog!

Loving the diversity

As someone obsessed with TLoU, this was like travelling back to the curious world of post-apocalypse and melting into the horror it brings.

Above average writing for post apocalyptic tale

Good storyline. Interesting character development with good variety and some unusual plot twists. Looking forward to the next installment.

Just Not For Me

I love the End of the World Series and this is just not on the same level. A huge part is the female narration and story line - she is awful. I was having a hard time listening to her. Accents come and go and her voice is just hard on the ears. If you get past her voice, her story line is just boring and frustrating. Turn it into a drinking game and every time she talks about not being able to trust someone, have a shot. Then you can pass out and not remember how bad she is!

I was trying to plow through as I liked the beginning of the story and enjoy most of the characters, but the story just turned to crap and I could not do it anymore. They ruined one of the characters I enjoyed the most and I had to call it quits and return the book.

The hunt continues for another good zompocolypse story.

I... Don't.. Understand.

I'm so sorry! I really wanted to love this series.

The general ideas for characters, plot, location and such are promising. I just feel like it could have used some more editing, character development, and thought on the flow of events.

I got pulled out of the story multiple times trying to relate to the character's reactions.

There's some person acting weird outside of the train. Lets give him a nickname and ignore that until its convenient for the story again.

Hmmm... my fiance is probably dead. I'm not even going to try to find them!

There's a small horde of infected running towards us, let's stop and talk.

The final straw was when they find somewhere not yet infected and they just.... go shopping. They don't warn anyone or act abnormal in any way. One character is worried another character will be given a hard time by the locals because he isn't dressed nicely and needs a shower. They just calmly stop at the pharmacy and then go grocery shopping for survival and zombie killing supplies. Everyone is just going about their business as normal. I rewinded multiple times and kept trying to figure out if I missed something, then gave up.

Again, I'm so sorry. Maybe it's the way it's narrated. Maybe it's better in print. Maybe I'm just out of touch and don't relate to characters the way others would. Maybe I should have pushed through the last half of the book and everything would have made sense. Who knows?! I'm just baffled. I honestly feel like maybe I'm not reading the same book as everyone else.

I wish the best of luck to the author and sincerely hope they continue writing. This was a wonderful idea, it just needs some more editing IMHO.

Good story and characters

I appreciated the characters a lot. Their varied backgrounds were realistic to the world we live in now and made it easier for me to immerse myself in the story. Really interesting story and well written.

I liked the story but

I enjoyed the male narrator and the story however the female narrator was really bad. It was hard to keep listening to her but because of the story and male narrator it was good.
