About this listen

Can true love keep Chaima from killing again?

The Hotel Lamia chain is famous as a place to play and feed, and the Las Vegas location delivers on this delicious promise. Humans go to find cheap thrills on the edge of The Strip and vampires find no shortage of ways to satisfy their hunger.

But for some, the bloodlust is overwhelming. Like Chaima, who exacted revenge on her attackers and was entombed in Morocco for eighty years. Now she's locked herself in the Hotel Lamia Las Vegas, battling her inner demons.

Chaima is desperate enough to consider any solution, even if it comes in the form of a dark-haired, addictions counseling vampire called Mason who both repels and attracts her.

Mason has closed off his heart to women - especially vampires. With his brooding good looks he's had no shortage of lovers, but all he's interested in is feeding and fooling around. But there's something about Chaima that blows his self-control apart, and makes him want to break down his walls before he goes crazy.

Great Novella

Very interesting take on the beginning of vampires. I really wished it was a longer book.

Slow burn vampire romance

I love this series of short-ish vampire stories. The continuing presence of characters from previous books adds a great touch. I like all the connections between the backstory and the current story.

The narrator did an excellent job. She's clear and easy to listen to.

Note: in the prologue there is an on-page brief description of a prior SA of the FMC. That same incident is referenced several times throughout the book.
